Honestly, I rarely go during a carb nite. The next morning... Now that's another story.

Mhmm you know, that might happen to me tomorrow. I hope it's not during my gym time, I'll doing Bench Max Effort...so the added "pressure" might be a concern ;D

I always try to get plenty of coffee in me so I hit the head before I start lifting, haha.

Brandon D ChristParticipantThe best way I find to get yourself off fiber. If you are used to consuming 30+ g of fiber everyday, you probably developed a lazy colon. Gradually reduce your fiber intake down to about 10 g a day and you should be good. Going cold turkey on fiber isn't a very good idea. It gave me major issues.

Richard SchmittModeratorYeah I don't eat any veggies for fiber…but my problem is probably the ton of sweet potatoes cooked in variations of foods recipes I ate

RoadblockParticipantOk, so I have read a few articles and am following the “You Are What You Absorb” article by Meadows. I am taking 500mg betaine HCL and that bifidus(whatever it is) stuff with every meal for approx. 3 weeks now. I am also taking approx 5g of pmega 3 per day. Absorption has changed for sure and stool consistency is soft but I am still stretching out to 3 days between movements, and when they do come they are not substantial. What's the next step?RB

Brandon D ChristParticipantWell betaine hcl and bifidus probably isn't gonna help with constipation. Are you taking any of the fiber supps or magnesium?

RoadblockParticipantYah, sorry. I am taking 600mg mag citrate before bed. Also, I am eating a “greens only” meal as my second meal. Just some spring mix and red/orange peppers and cucumbers. Basically a light salad for some ruffage. I also try to eat veggies with each meal. Either broccoli, asparagus, or spinach.RB

You might want to increase fiber intake or take a fiber supplement like that Triple Fiber stuff. I hear a lot of people on here say that you don't need fiber, but the fact is a little bit helps with most people. I have noticed really good bowel function when my fiber intake is between 10-15 g. Maybe try getting that much in.I see you are consuming some vegetables, but I would try eating more dense veggies like brussel sprouts and broccoli. They tend to be a bit more fiber rich than greens, which tend to only have a gram or two per serving.

RoadblockParticipantI was only concerned with becoming fiber dependant if using a suppliment. Should I be concerned?RB

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you aren't taking 20 g of fiber from a supplement a day you will be fine. You won't need much, just 5-10 g or so. Just stay away from Psyllium. Also eating a couple servings of nuts will help.

I always see the advice for nuts, what's the reasoning behind it? I am constantly fighting to keep bowel movements regular its really annoyingSent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk 2
