rharrisKeymasterMy understanding is that we are supposed to carb backload after a strength training session. Is this only if we strength train every day? What about rest days? I came across an article that says that if we strength train every other day, then we shouldn't carb backload on the days we train, so this confused me. Or what if we strength train 5 days a week, and take 2 consecutive days off such as the weekend? Please advise on how to actually carb backload, depending on strength training days. Also, the training will begin between 5PM and 6PM.

beellyParticipantThe most general formula is: If your doing Strength Accumulation, then you back load every day that you work out/strength train. If your doing Density Bulking then you back load every single day regardless if you worked out or not.For your example, if you work out m-f and take sat/sun off, I would just back load m-f and not back load on sat/sun.

AmrothMemberDepending on the goal, if you want lose fat and build strength, mass, then only backload after you train(SA). if you want to build some serious mass, then backload everyday(DB).If you on SA, and your traing in pm as you said, then you shouldn't backload rest days.Hope this help.

+1 Have you read the book?

rharrisGuestYes, I purchased the book, but got confused when I came across an article that had a different way of backloading if training every other day.

CBachelor17MemberRead it again- Where he states the new definition of an off day. He also defines this protocol as a goal-orriented decision as well.

TCBParticipantTwo questions have to be asked about articles on the net.. 1)Was it written by Kiefer? If not, it may not apply to the CBL program as Kiefer has written it. 2) Was the article written/published before or after the book was..Just so you don't remain confused; General rule of thumb is backload after your workout, as long as you're evening training.
