Adam HaysParticipantIf corn syrup is pure glucose it would be ideal to backload with after a training session, right? Like as syrup with pancakes?

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorAs far as syrups go, yeah.Though I tend to use sugar free syrups because liquid's are satiating.

Richard SchmittModeratorI like mixing maple flavoring with corn syrup with pancakes. Walden Farms stuff is pretty good too.

Adam HaysParticipantI thought sugar free syrups were no good due to sugar alcohols.. Would I be better off eating a couple extra pancakes and using the sugar free syrup? I'd rather eat 8 pancakes with sugar free syrup than 3 pancakes with corn syrup.. But I didn't know if sugar alcohols would pose a problem…

SA should be avoided while ULC, but don't matter while back loading.

Adam HaysParticipantIs it ok to backload all my carbs in one meal? Post workout pancakes with syrup would pretty much fill all my carb needs at once.

Adam HaysParticipantI will be resistance Training on Monday Evening. Tuesday is an off Day. Then Resistance Training again Wednesday Evening and again Thursday evening then off day on Friday. Do I backload on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday? Or would I not backload on Monday or Thursday?
November 14, 2014 at 9:48 pm #227325
Trevor G FullbrightModeratorBackload on training days.

Adam HaysParticipantI have been ULC for the last 3 days and did HIIT bike sprints two of those days. I will be resistance training tomorrow, so should I backload tonight? If so, do I do a “full” carb backload?

Depends on your goals, but if you have any strength or athletic goals with training at least have some carbs tonight.

Then there is very little point in doing maybe more then 1 HIIT session a week. Even that is probably not needed.
