CBachelor17MemberIndeed he does, he also mentions it doesn't matter the absorption rate, but I wouldn't go with anything fast personally (i.e a protein shake) unless is Micellar Casein. But I see it as a perfect time to have a big bowl of cottage cheese and some tomato! or as said a Lettuce Burger haha.

i have never experienced feeling/looking "tighter" in the AM no matter how many or how little carbs i ingested.. maybe it's a genetics thing i dunno.. i read somewhere salt can effect it but i played around with very high to low salt intakes and same thing no difference upon waking

Tony SnowParticipantThis was a great discussion! How does it (or does it) influence carb intake on an off night? So in other words, workout on Wednesday, but Thursday is your off day, and then you have legs on Friday, so you are looking to backload on Thursday night. Since there is no post workout window, I am guessing you just do one meal including carbs…but when? Right before bed? Two hours before bed?

CBachelor17MemberI personally would never BL on an off day. I would rather have a larger BL on the last training session, for example Friday(Big Backload), Satuday(OFF), Sunday(Back/Bicep)BUT in a completely hypothetical situation, IF i did, I would eat my carbs directly before bed, and not much at all. Im talking a banana and a cup of rice. But thats just me.

I hear ya, and it scares the grass fed beef out of me, but I have been considering it: a iso/hydro shake with just leucine PWO when I am off the next day, and then a small backload on the off day as discussed in some other posts here. Just curious how this discussion applies to that scenario.

CBachelor17MemberYea I think it belongs on a different thread. But I was just stating in reply to the question. Indigestion? Deff not something I'm worried about…I go to bed 30-90 minutes after eating everyday. Drink a bottle of water after eating if your having indigestion problems.

jreinhalMemberI think back loading on an off day works well if your following day is AM training.

Richard SchmittModeratorOr a strength athlete. This matter has been discussed quite thoroughly and even Kiefer made a video.
