On carb backloading if a really skinny hardgainer comes along who wants to pack on the muscle fast what is the best advice, on top of hypertrophy training, eating a lot of protein, fats and packing in the carbs at night?I'm a big advocate for eggs, but some guys also recommend a gallon of milk per day as well.  I'm wary of that because of the sugar in milk, but could that be okay if it is done as part of the backload of carbs?  And if it is a good idea would it be best to take it early on in the backload because milk is often described as low GI. Lower fat milk is also even less GI.

It boils down to ingesting enough calories/macros in the day to produce muscle growth/gain. A gallon of milk can get you there but you would be better off eating whole foods rather than liquid calories, unless you absolutely need to.

If you're truly a hard gainer, CBL probably isn't the best protocol to follow.Stuffing 600g+ carbs down your throat within 2-4 hours versus evenly spread throughout the day. I'm sure a hard gainer would struggle more with the former.

Doesn't just mean carbs. Again overall macros.

It's just a matter of eating more, as said. More calories. That's it. The GOMAD thing is usually recommended just because it's easy. That being said, to directly answer the topic:Eggs - pretty much wheneverMilk - PWO
