I do the same but I stick with a 5mg dose due to what I read in this study:http://www.ergo-log.com/melatoninposttraininggh.htmlI thought the study might be of some interest to you. The difference in GH production between a 5mg and 6mg dose might be negligible but I think I'll stay with my 5mg dose.

I am sure the 1mg is negligible, but thanks for sharing (the study did mention 6mg being too high). The caps I have are 3mg a piece, so I would need to find 2.5mg caps.Cory

I use a brand of 5mg tabs which are dissolved under the tongue and have a refreshing minty flavour. It's like I'm being rewarded for pumping out GH.

Also, do you guys feel that purchasing melatonin is worth it for the purpose of taking it pre-workout? Another quick question for anyone has taken GABA for a decent amount of time? Do you feel that this supplement is worth buying and how much and how often do you take it? I currently take ZMA before bed.Thanks to anyone with help on these topics.

I mostly just use Melatonin pre-workout, and on occassion, before bed. I workout between 6-9pm on weekdays, and melatonin pre-workout has not affected my sleep. Been doing it for years! I dose 6mg each time.I've also taken GABA since ~2009. I take 5g both pre-workout and pre-bed.Cory

Interesting. I am not using it for calm (mostly), rather, I am using it b/c of the studies done on it suppressing GH breakdown if you take 5mg+ pre-training. Combine it with GABA pre-workout (for a GH boost), and that's all she wrote.Cory

JakeMemberI've been reading that GABA is very inefficient at crossing the blood brain barrier to get to the brain. It may enter the brain through the pituitary gland however. There is a supplement called Picamilon though that is GABA with niacin attached to it and this allows it to pass through the blood brain barrier. Does anyone have any experience with Picamilon and would you recommend getting that over pure GABA?
