We have mentioned beta alanine before.  I think it's a good supplement.

Very good supplement, even better when stacked with creatine.

Is beta alanine fine to take pre workout if it is unflavored?

I would say yes.  Even if there is any sort of insulin release (which I highly doubt) it would be worth it.

I've been taking it pre-workout (w/ creatine) for years... no issues.  Unflavored.Cory

I'm so excited about taking this 🙂 I have just ordered it, plus 5 mini shaker bottles to use pre-workout.Any other supps to add pre-workout? Climbing/GymI'm guessing 2g AB + 5g Creatine for a woman?

I must admit, the first time I dosed it... I felt like I wanted to die.  Even bending over to tie my shoes was an effort b/c of the 'flush'.GABA does that, too.  Only slightly different locations in the body.A girl I was seeing once wanted to try my pre-workout stack (she was an athlete), so I snuck in a little BA w/o warning her re: the 'flush'... LOL @ her reaction.  I am such a dick, sometimes.  Within 10 minutes, she was like:  "what's happening to me?!?!"She loved her workout, though.  😉Cory

Oh, well, thanks for the warning. The number of different random drugs/supps I've taken I'm getting used to these sort of reactions.

My current pre-workout schedule is:16 oz. black coffee1 tbsp coconut oil5g creatine10g glutamine1.1g Acetyl-L-Carnitine (boosts androgen receptor sites and mobilizes fat for energy)3g Citrulline Malate (for N.O., kicks the shit out of Arginine AKG)~2g Beta-Alanine (sometimes I switch w/ 1000mg Taurine)5g GABA (for GH production.  It has been shown to boost GH rapidly in the presence of resistance training)6mg Melatonin (to prevent GH breakdown)300mg TestofenCory

No problems.  🙂It is similar to a Niacin 'flush'.  Pins and needles.  This happens when it binds to receptor sites.Cory

I'm going to start drinking black coffee cold in the AM in my shake, just cus I'm hard core (and can't be bothered to go into the kitchen and turn on the kettle).
