I have been using mine for about 2 months now and it has been great. I have tried to "push" it when I am amber or red and I can honestly say the sessiosn we subpar. With that being said I really like how you respond to certain training and how you can adjust it to keep progressing. It really takes all of life's variables into account and tells you how to fit training into it.

Brandon D ChristParticipantI have been using it for the past few weeks. I like it for the same reason Tanner does. I think this is a must have if you are serious about training.

Gl;itch.eMember@ Tanner/iBob. Probably too early to tell but can you figure out what stressors/exercises have the biggest effect on you? Like do you dip into the amber/red more after a squat workout vs a back one or whatever? Im thinking that it could be helpful to know if pushing too much on one workout is going to effect the other negatively even though we are training different body parts. Especially useful when trying to bring up lagging lifts etc.

I havn't been using it long enough to notice, but I dipped into red when I did max triples on deadlifts. I will keep you posted.

Do I need one of these if I have an emWave2?

I am not super familiar with the EmWave2 so I can't answer.

FairyGuestOh okay. enWave is HRV training. So I guess I could log my standard 'score' and compare it to figure out if I'm overtraining 🙂

I think a difference is the emWave helps train you to control your HRV more so then tell you your HRV.You could likely and test where your HRV is and how quickly you can reach cohearance. I've done that and sometimes I'll start in red but within 30 seconds I can get it into green and I'll have a good training session. I should play around with it some.

FairyGuestCool. Logging day to day scores can't be a bad thing.
January 30, 2013 at 8:44 pm #93431
Tanner FoxParticipantEvery single week after my carb nite my score drops for some reason. If I get an hour less of sleep, same thing. I am running the cube method now and when I have the heavy days it affects it as well. All in all it is just really cool to see your HRV over the course of a week and month.
January 30, 2013 at 8:45 pm #93432
FairyGuestThat would make sense. Oxidative damage from the carb overload is gonna show up as stress on your body.

Gl;itch.eMemberAwesome stuff guys. Cheers. One thing I wonder about is how easy the BioForce HRV system is to use and setup vs the stand alone emWave. I dont have a smart phone either so I would have to buy one as well as the heart rate monitor. emWave is a complete package and quite a bit cheaper.

I am not sure about the emWave but the Bioforce was really easy. It takes about a week to get some accurate feedback to guage where your red, amber, and green areas are but after that its all good. Do you have and ipad or ipod touch?
