Bmb013ParticipantI started density bulking yesterday by back loading after my workout. Is there anything different about back loading on off days? Should they be smaller? Please share anything I should know about back loading on off days.

WendtbrandonParticipantHow did you feel when you woke up this morning? And besides that if your goal is to gain mass just take down everything you can see to be completely honest i did it for a week and put on about 4lbs almost 3 lbs lean i would say.

Bmb013ParticipantI felt good this morning. No bloat, looked ripped.

WendtbrandonParticipantthat means pretty much to just take down whatever you can as long as your goal is mass gaining, if not then be cautious.

Jeffrey HansenParticipantYou do not back load on off days, they are ulc

Sorry bud but i dont think you put on 3lbs of LBM in a week. Not even on grams and grams of gear.

WendtbrandonParticipantYeah that's what I'm thinking I'm skeptical too because I use calipers to measure bf and they're probably off because I gained 4lbs and stood the same bf according to the calipers soo idk

JizzmoGuestwell technically water retention is considered lean mass so in that case this might be true 😛 maybe your glycogen stores were not quite full and you needed the off day backloads to fully carb yourself up

WendtbrandonParticipantYeah maybe that sounds more believable but I think I may have retained half a lb but I'll give it a few days to see

Most people dont have access to the equipment necessary to tell exactly where the weight has gone. Id just be satisfied that Im not bloated or getting fat, and that Im improving in the gym. Just like with losing weight the scale can be your enemy when gaining as well. Forcing weight gain on a scale often leads to excess fat gain but no extra muscle in my experience. Not saying its not worth tracking your weight but it should be secondary to other measures such as performance and apperance.
