Caffeine

    Nope, but I heard they were the shit which doesn't surprise me. I am definitely getting some when I go back to Canada, big supporter of Jamie and a huge stim junkie.I am around Ibob's level in terms of intake and I also always feel it unless I am chronically tired, in which case anything I take won't have any effect. It always depends. Kiefer seems like he is going more for the holistic health approach these days, he's not as much into performance and training as he used to be a couple years back when he was caffeinated out of his brain. Either way I don't let any expert sway me too much in terms of what I have found out helps my training as health is secondary to me anyways. On top of that I have found 0 benefits from cutting out caffeine, even for my occasional insomnia. Caffeine is fantastic for endurance and when you have to recover quickly from workouts. Also the thermogenic effects and possibly nootropic benefits don't really go away even if you don't always feel buzzed.I challenge anyone to train and work as much as I do without caffeine, it's not gonna happen. This being said I tend to reduce my intake a lot when I am on vacation or don't have anything to do on any given day, but that's pretty rare.

    I absolutely abuse caffeine. Usually 600mg pre-workout, regardless of whether I workout in the morning or evening. Plus coffee/espresso through the day, although not that much lately.My sleep pattern has been really good despite this. I'm getting a solid 7-8 hours a night. 10-11pm until 6am.

    I actually find that if I keep the bulk of my caffeine intake 10 hours before bed I sleep like a baby. What Keifer say about caffeine?  I don't think I'll ever cycle off of it, but I am considering reducing my intake.

    He basically just said that he has dialed back his opinion on caffeine somewhat and personally only has full-caff coffee a couple times a week instead. People just tend to take these things he says and think it means he is saying "This is the new guideline. This is what you should do."

    I've purposely cycled off it a few times. I genuinely sleep better having a large amount daily than I do having none.I don't think I could reduce the amount I have at the moment, my lifting is too intense and my calories too low to go without some form of stimulant. I'd stack it with nicotine but that plays havoc with my appetite.

    I think I was just worried that I could take a pre workout with +/- 300 mg of caffeine and then fall asleep.  This last week has been fine off of caffeine because I have been able to sleep as long as I want in the mornings so I always wake up rested, but when vacation is over and I have to work late and train early I'll be back on the sauce.  I just figured with two weeks off of work I would try to cut it out (I did have a few diet cokes while at Disneyland) to see if I would regain that stimulant feeling I no longer get from it.  Thanks for all the input, guys!

    I just started using caffeine again. #1 benefit for me is appetite suppressant. When I was younger, I would lose weight effortlessly just by drinking a ton of caffeine. So I'm hoping that will still hold true.
