Brandon D ChristParticipantThey only time I go caffeine free is the week before a meet. Other times if I feel my consumption has gotten out of control, I will cut back.

I drink about 42 oz of coffee and I have 200 mg pre workout. Probably around 850 mg total.

Good lord haha that is a hefty amount. I know over doing it can down regulate adrenaline response but no idea what doses and for how long it takes to do that. Cycling every month is probably a little too precautious. I am surprised though that you don't notice any lessened effects without cycling at all.

I rarely totally cycle off of caffeine, but my intake will go between around 400mg per day up to 2g+ a day.Granted no matter what I do I feel very little from caffeine.

Shaun Hutchinson-LawsonParticipantSo would the effects be more if a person cycles off for a month? Or is a week enough to have the same effects? Thought I read somewhere to cycle off for a month would make it more effective, if not I need to get my coffee now! Been caffeine free for 3 weeks and love my coffee!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Kiefer wrote an article on this. He said a week is all you need to do to cycle off for the strength enhancing properties of caffeine. Is that the effect you are talking about? Because the other effect of caffeine like euphoria, increased alertness, ect. never goes away for me.

Justin GuimondParticipantI don't cycle off, generally. Both because I really like coffee, and since Kiefer said there's not a big reason to cycle-off.

Yup, Effects regarding strength and thermogenics? So only a week will do...Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

You'll always have the thermogenic effect. The strength enhancement dissipates rapidly and the brain quickly adjusts fort this, so I wouldn't even worry about it unless you are doing an athletic event. There really is no reason to cycle off caffeine, unless you feel it's interfering with your well being.

Bradley R. CollinsParticipantOld topic, but I didn't want to start a new thread. With Kiefer's newer recommendations on caffeine has anyone changed their opinions on cycling off of it and/or changed the daily amount they ingest?I was taking around 400mg pre workout and a lot more throughout the day for as long as I can remember, so this week I decided to try to cycle off. I'm wondering how long I should do so to see the energy enhancing benefits of it again. I can literally drink pre workout and go to sleep these days. Currently I'm taking Biotest's Power Drive and/or Brain Candy (caffeine free) as a pre workout, which are really more nootropic type supplements.Incidentally, has anyone tried the Chaos and Pain supplements?
