abbeballKeymasterI find that I am unlike most during carb nite. I eat dirtier (pizza, donuts) not to mention I probably eat more. I am not the person that can nibble all night. If there is room in my belly, something needs to be there. This last carb nite I had a burrito from Chipotle, 3 birthday cupcakes, and 10 donuts. Since we go 6-7 days without carbs and as its more regulated on CBL due to the greater frequency of carb intake, can we over due carbs on carb nite?

Richard SchmittModeratorOh yeah! Have fun on your CN! Go overboard. It's a different situation when you backload though but once a week shouldn't hurt. There are times I can eat with no problem, and there are times (like this last CN) I couldn't eat that much without feeling uncomfortable. Highest I ever went was 850g in a four hour period.

abbeballGuestTo be honest, I don't even count the carbs. I know each donut is about 25-30g, sometimes I do pizza instead of a burrito but to tell you the truth for a female I can pack in some food. My only wish is that I would take the time to spread it out throughout the night. I tend to stuff my face and then get full and uncomfortable for the rest of the night. You would think it would be easy to put the donut down but its actually hard!

I had this exact problem last night! xD I don't know how hard you have to go to undo it. I ate soo much last night. I guess by the end of the week I will know xD

Haha yeah I thought it would be easy to eat but it ain't as easy as I thought. Funny thing I know I didn't eat enough because today (the 2nd day from my CN) I don't look or feel full from it. Rather I could eat another CN if I wanted. Which is weird.

abbeballGuestI can always tell I eat enough because I hold onto the bloat and weight for a few days. Eating enough is never my problem! I do sometimes worry that I eat too much. How soon after we begin the program are we supposed to start seeing more serious differences? I read the book but its nice to get opinions as well.

Honestly? Depends on how "chunky" we are. If rather lean or less "chunky" maybe a month or so? I've been on CNS since April (with plenty of screw ups and takin in wrong foods) and since SW about 4 weeks ago I'm starting to see minor results. Personally, take pictures either weekly or monthly and compare. You'll notice something.

abbeballGuestI use a tap measure to measure my progress. I am not chunky, rather straight all the way up. I would like to see tightness around my muscles and as I continue to lift weight. It has been 4 weeks or so since I started and I am the same measurements and precarb nite weight is basically the same each time after a few days of bloating so I know I am not getting worse! I am almost ok with being able to eat like I have been and stay the same! I can eat my fats and my goodies and stay the same. I do hope that I will start to get tighter but if within a couple of weeks I haven't seen any solid results, I will adjust as needed. My ULC days tend to vary between 2000 and 2500 calories a day. Does that seem high?
August 5, 2012 at 7:11 pm #69186
Richard SchmittModeratorOh no not high at all, that's the range I usually fall under too. I can never get above 2300 on a given day. CN usually ranks up there between 6000-7000 though. I know I wake up tighter when I end the night with ice cream and a couple cookies or cake or brownies.

Well I haven't taken measurements in a long while. Weight has gone from 185 to 175 and stayed consistent. My body fat is slowly diminishing. I am not sure what it is at the moment. I possibly was at around 17-18%. Now maybe a percent or 2 down? Just because my sides are starting to go away and mid-section is getting defined. My chest is getting slimmer, arms are becoming more defined and bigger, quads and thighs are showing up a lot more. Plus with the amount I am eating on ULC days and CN I'm not fat or getting fat. My clothes are fitting better.

I am a female though! Shouldn't I NOT be eating the same as you!?

Would depend on amount of activity. If results are good/your not gaining, I see no worries. I'm curious that I'm 30+ pounds on big tex and eating just as much or fewer calories.

abbeballGuestI am pretty active, I work out 4 times a week with weights and HIIT @ least once a week. My job requires me to be on my feet moving around for 5-9 hours depending on how busy it is. Plus I am constantly active around the house when off work as well. I eat usually twice a day and the latter meal is usually heavier to keep me satiated til noon the next day. I haven't gained or measurements increased. But seems weird that I can eat as much on ULC days and CN days as men. I am not overweight by any means and so my appetite sometimes surprises me!

You're pretty active. So it would seem reasonable to me that you would eat that much during the ULC phase at least. For the effects of refeeding, glycogen, diet, ect, make it hard to gain weight. I just like to chalk it up to "Magic" and brag about how I eat poptarts, cereal, and doughnuts on my "diet". xD
