I’m gonna do a fitness show in the near future. I’ve been doing the targeted ketogenic diet for about 6 months (up to 20g carb protein shakes intra-workout but low carb at other times), so I’ve been dipping in and out of ketosis but I haven’t eaten carbs during that time.
My question is, how should I approach my pre-contest carb load. Should I have a carbnite/backloading day a few weeks prior to the show as to re-condition my body and then load harder at the day of the show. Or, should I keep depleting myself to the day and then load before going on stage. I’m already sub 10% BF and lean. It’s just that because of keto I’m not that vascular or pumped.
