Hey allJust looking to get some expertise opinion what will be better for my situation; carb nite or carb backloading. I'm looking to lose fat/weight while maintaining/gaining strength. I've returned to competitive boxing where I'll be competing at 175 pounds. I'm currently in the 200-205 pound range around 20% BF. I go to the boxing gym 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday, where HIIT takes place, followed by heavybag work, speed bag or hitting the mitts. Pretty soon I will also be doing strength training two days a week. I ask because it sounds to me, from what I gather, is that HIIT should be avoided on CNS, but I can't avoid doing it. For this reason, should I do carb backloading? or can I change the two up on different days? Thanks!

I've been on CN for about three months while going back to boxing 4-6 times a week for 2+ hours and lifting a couple times a week on top of that, pretty heavily might I add. It's gonna depend on how long you have to lose the weight, but I'd suggest starting with CN anyways, just to get some nice fat adaptation. It's gonna suck at first, but after a few weeks your endurance will be higher than it was before and you'll have kickstarted your fat loss. At some point you will run into diminishing returns, for me it took around 2 months, at which point I would suggest doing a more CBL-like approach. I think you should check out my log in the rogues section (if you can access it) and/or shoot me a pm either way, I know how to do this shit while boxing. Mind you, I started quite a bit leaner than you are, so I think it would work even smoother in your case. The thing with this much HIIT is that you have to make absolutely certain that you do NOT, and I repeat do NOT undereat no matter what you do. Supplementing with leucine and trying to sip on some protein during your workout will help with keeping your muscle along with lifting heavy on those 2 days, especially as you get leaner. Basically you'll know if you fuck up when you wake up the next day and feel like a bag of dicks. At first it's gonna be a bit difficult no matter what, though, so don't freak out before you give it a couple weeks.
