Anyone else use Carb Powder? I'm new to using it, but my understanding of Waxy Maize and Waxy Rice is that its optimal for the PWO Carb Spike and its siginificantly less prone increasing fat storage (if at all). I'm not terribly well versed in this supplement and I'm in my first month of using it after nearly a decade of amature bodydbuilding and only a year of competative Body Building. I'm curious if anyone else uses the Waxy products (also mentioned in CBL). It's a bummer that it's not carbs from tasty foods, but anything to keep the bodyfat lower til my next compeition prep is ideal. Thanks for any input you can share.Note: I'm currently using Secret Sauce from MuscleMeds, and Karbolic.http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/musclemeds/secret-sauce.htmlhttp://www.bodybuilding.com/store/pro-supps/karbolic.html
I have never heard any sort of theoretical argument or set of data that would lead me to believe that any of the fancy PWO carb powders are better than dextrose or maltodextrin. Personally I would just skip the carb powders and eat real food.
I think you're right honestly. and I may verywell have been “Had” by all this. Found a good article obe bodybuilding.com about the myth of waxy maize and everything led to equal if not better results from dextrose and maltadextrine for PWO.http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/waxy_maize_starch_myth.htm
Dextrose, yo. I prefer mine from rice sources.I have played around with the highly branched cyclic dexterin, so far as designer carbs go... on the recommendation of John Meadows, introduced mid-workout with PeptoPro... seemed to do me well for a while. I was training nuts, in the manner of John Meadows too.I also am playing around with some super-starches (UCAN) for use while snowboarding...
