John LaPlaca JrMemberHello everyone,The past 2 days I haven't faired well with Dextrose or Maltodextrin. Yesterday I even threw up and I even took a digestive enzyme with it from the day before. Before CN or CBL I never had a problem with these products but since Jan of this year these products don't agree with me. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Is Rilose easier on the stomach since it is rice based? Waxy maize a good product? Can I have honey PWO? I seen the GI index of 55 which seems low for honey. For now I think I am going to stick with Banana'a but would like other options.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorI wouldn't do honey PWO.Either try bananas, potato starch, karbolyn, or just skip carbs in the shake.You could also try HBCD with an IWO shake.

I will probably be able to eat more carbs through out the night as well. Even when I stick with 2 scoops of dextrose it hurts my stomach to the point I can't eat that much.

are you sure it was the dex? i've experience some hard core bloating but never vomiting .... how much are you taking, and how quickly are you consuming it? are you drinking a shit load of water at the same time or what?

I skipped the dextrose completely and went with 100grams of hydro/isolate mix, leucine, creatine. Not only did I not bloat or feel sick but I was able to eat more through out the night. I was taking 2 scoops(50 grams).

ULC from 5:00am(AM shake's at 6:00am and 9:00am and a ULC lunch at noon, workout at 5:00pm)

At this point i'd rather not because of how awful I felt. I am having my first Carb meal within 30 minutes though after the shake. The hydro/iso and leucine is giving me the insulin response I need so I am not overally concerned.

Digestive enzymes? Also, hydrosylates makes me feel horrible in the gut if i don't mix with enough water.. i know it sounds crazy but it's true. Plus being ULC for 12+ hours and then getting a HUGE insulin spike might be an issue. But if it didn't happen but only once then it's probably not the case.

miamikeGuestNot sure if it was mentioned but switch to Rilose. You can get it from protein factory.

John LaPlaca JrMemberI am using ripe banana's PWO and right now I am experimenting with an intraworkout shake that is half Waxy maize and half dextrose. It was perfectly fine on my stomach so I think anything more than a half to 1 full scoop of dextrose is too much for me to handle.
