Is anyone using Carb Shock in their post workout shake in place of the dextrose/maltodextrin, waxy maize, etc? Since I am training fasted first thing in the morning it would seem like a better alternative to spike insulin post-training without many carbs until the evening when I start backloading. Thanks!

Also, if anyone is using this are you waiting 60 minutes post training to take it like recommended? Not sure if this is really necessary.

Waiting 60 minutes post training is actually the most important part of the Carb Shock protocol. Did you read the write up Kiefer wrote for Carb Shock?

If you’re talking about the write up in the advertising email then yes, I have read it. If there is another write up about it somewhere, I’d love to read that. I was just asking because for those who are training in the evening and finish around 6:30-7pm, waiting an hour for the PWO shake and then starting backloading after that could take you later into the evening, so not much time to eat before bed I guess.

I’m talking about the pdf. I know the issues with waiting an hour as I train later in the evening as well. My recommendation is to wait as long as you can after working out. Sometimes I cut it to 45 minutes.

Another option would be to split your cab intake between pre and post workout.

Thank you. I just read it. It seems like Carb Shock will work well with my fasted AM training schedule. It will give me the large insulin spike desired while allowing me to keep my usable carbs <30g until the evening when I start backloading.
