John LaPlaca JrMemberHey guys,Is the PWO shake considered the first meal or the meal after PWO? I have been treating the meal after as the first meal. I know in the book he suggests pizza and other fatty stuff 30-60 minutes after the shake but it seems the common trend is to have a fattier meal as the last meal. Any clarification? I want GF pancakes or GF pizza tonight and would like to make them first after my PWO shake.Thanks.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorIt really depends on the length of your backload.

Here is how mine goes...7:00pm PWO shake(dextrose, whey hydro and iso, creatine, glutimine, and leucine)Between 7:30pm and 8:00pm depending on how hungry I am I normally keep this meal under 10-15 grams of fat, typically 10.(Last night 2 cups of cooked jasmine rice with 224 grams of chicken with bbq sauce)2 hours after I have one more meal.(Last night I had 600 grams of red potatoes, cooked in a tsp of coconut oil, and 1 tbsp of kerry gold on top, and 224 grams of chicken with bbq sauce) It will be a bit fattier with a dessert. Last night had half a pint of ben and jerrys frozen greek yogurt. I also currently weigh 240lb. I seen some of your backloads with 600 grams of potatoes. Is that one meal for the night or in addition to other meals?

600g of potatoes is 1 meal for sure. I had 900g of sweet potatoes not to long ago.Anyway, the reason you want fattier item toward the end is to allow insulin to drop before fat hits the blood stream. What you could do is wait till 8:30-9, have the pizza as your first meal, then an hour after it have some dessert or something.

If you are taking in 600 grams also I should really consider increasing my carbs then. I weigh 240lb and my LBM is roughly between 210 and 215. This is the biggest(muscular wise) and leanest I have ever been at the same time. I know the nights I eat more I feel and look better the next day. What are your thoughts on how my meals are spaced? Also while I have you here.... I am going to Nashville in August and I wont be following any guidelines for the most part the entire time. I will probably still eat carbs only at night with the exception of beer. Should I do a reintroduction phase when I get back? And one more.... I wake up at 5:00am and I have my coffee(Bulletproof or with HWC) at 5:30am. I eat around 9am and thats 12 hours or so from the last meal mark. I was toughing it out for a while until lunch at noon but I Was starving even with a AM accelrator shake instead at 9am. I know its still the same but since I am already up for 4 hours would you consider it breakfest?Coming from CNS to CBL I am alot more hungry during the day. I used to be fine on CNS for hours upon hours if I needed to be. I need to chill on the coffee until I buy decaf for the appetite control. Its normally the night after a backload by mid morning I am starving and after I eat my ULC meals.

I'd do more carbs until you find your sweet spot. It's easy to pull back if you over shoot. As far as if you should re do prep, it depends on how crazy you go. For most thing a couple ULC days and HIIT will do fine.I'm not sure what you're asking about with breakfast. It's okay if that's what you're asking. As long as it's working for you. It's normal to be hungrier the day after a backload.
