IronFreakShowGuestStay away, I can't remember if I read it or heard it from Kiefer, but alcohol will literally blunt fat burning up to a week. If you’re going to drink, understand the ramifications first. I'm getting married in September, I plan on partying then, but I haven't touched the drink in 3.5 months because this is more important.
Drinking will stop fat burning while the alcohol is being burned, but providing you aren't eating carbs with it you'll go back to burning fat once it's out of your system, but, it can stop testosterone production for up to a week.
AAAHHH!! Thats what it was, I knew it stopped something for a long time hahaha. Thank you for clarifying that for me!

Yes, providing you keep your carbs under 30g, but it's best to just avoid them. High quality dark chocolate, something like lindt 90% is great for a treat during ULC.

Off days as in backloading?......Anyone can correct me on this but.......Yes and no, in the CBL book Kiefer lists a few fruits that are higher on the GI scale like really ripe bananas, I believe kiwi and maybe pineapples and apricots. I'd have to look through it again. Out of all of those he recommends the Banana the most because of its effects on spiking insulin. You can have the other stuff, but in retrospect of the amount of carbs that need to be taken in during that period, why waste the space with fruits. He says eat dirty, you're trying to get carbs. I carb loaded last night and it looked like this.Gym-PWO shake with whey iso, leucine and creatine.(2) 10" gluten free pizza with cheese and hamburger(1) bag of pretzel M&M's(1) gallon jug of Gatorade (they're made with dextrose)(1) HUGE slice of home made coffee cake(1) 1/2 pint of Ben and Jerry's Cheese cake ice cream.SLEEPNo fruit in there at all, I did take a pro-biotic to help stomach digestion but that was it.

IronFreakShowGuestit really depends on your current body fat, I'm not near as fit as my fiance' who does it, her abs popped hard today. I have more around the mid section, but I woke up feeling nice and tight, not soft and flabby. How long have you been doing this?

nickl413MemberThe only gallon jugs of gatorade I've seen have sucrose as the first ingredient and dextrose as the second.

I am doing CNS right now to lose more weight for my wedding, but I was doing CBL with good results. Its a simple concept but you need to be strict within the guidelines. Keep your macro's in check, and don't be skidish when you backload, go to the extreme, get angry with those carbs! It's better to go all out and find your limit and back off then to start small and build up, you'll just be stalling yourself and hurting your performance in the gym.

Yes you are correct, the ingredients say: water, sucrose, dextrose.........My point is that its sweetened with those properties instead of the smaller bottles that contain high fructose corn syrup.

Then follow my path, I stopped CBL for the same reason, I wasn't getting fat, but I wanted to look tighter for the summer. I'm on a somewhat modified CNS plan. I go 5 days between carbnites, and as you can see go crazy. I have been doing carbnite for 2 weeks and have lost 14lbs. And.....more important haven't lost power in the gym, to an extent. Usually by the end of the 4th day I'm weaker, but all my glycogen store are empty too so thats expected.
