agentmadsParticipanthey guysi'm on CBL SA and wondering if a off day back load would be appropriate? so, i'm training 4 times per week and doing morning hiit session on two of my off days. this leaves one complete off day (no training or hiit).schedule:mon: resistance trainingtue: resistance trainingwed: off day (morning hiit)thu: resistance trainingfri: resistance trainingsat: off day (morning hiit)sun: complete off dayif i'm feeling tired (strength-wise) and flat on sunday mornings, would you guys recommend a back load?note, i'm on SA..thanks!

Richard SchmittModeratorI would try it since you're coming along the two days off, especially with HIIT being in there. What is the goal?

agentmadsParticipantmy goal is as with SA, lower bf% and hopefully a bit of muscle gain…i'm just wondering... back-loading after resistance training seems like a good idea because of the translocation of tglut (muscles absorb a lot of sugar), while back-loading without resistance training seems like a way to put on fat (and muscle, of course)??but, back-loading without the effects of tglut translocation is essentially what am trainers do, right?

agentmadsParticipantand, would you recommend a smaller back-load on an off day like this?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Richard SchmittModeratorI would do a nice dinner and be done with it. Like rice with meat, or potatoes with meat. Those are just examples.

omar57Participanti what would do is have a bigger backload on that last training session before your 2 day break

DerekcervaParticipantis it necessary to do a small backload on back to back off days with primarily fat loss in mind?
January 30, 2014 at 8:50 pm #212979
Richard SchmittModeratorNot necessarily but you're wanting to have something in the tank you fuel performance.

omar57Participantthe fewer backloads the more fat you will burn (thats why carb night is so effective for fat burning), but this is something that everyone has to experiment with….whats your current bf% and how many days do you train?

agentmadsParticipanti'm 10-12 % bf, weigh around 170 lbs and is 6 feet tall… training 4x week 🙂 i've tried carb nite for a short while, but i found myself pretty energy deprived after 3-4 days after carb nites.. my workout's intensity went down a lot... it felt like i was stressing my body too much and that i didn't recover well.. this is why i went for cbl sa.. my goal is not rapid fat loss... just steady fat loss and hopefully gaining a bit of muscle along the way 🙂

i'm an inch shorter than you and almost 10lbs heavier and i'm pretty damn small(same bf% also).. imho no reason you shouldn't be backloading after every single training session and possibly sunday night as well

agentmadsParticipantokay.. how many grams of carbs do you approx eat on your backloads, SanosukeX?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

agentmadsParticipantnot because I'm gonna try to hit your exact number, but people on these forums talk about backloading with 200g, but also 600g… and I, know, it depends… 🙂Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I train 6 days a week and backload after each but don't have a whole lot in terms of carbs.. i don't track but if i had to guess probably around 150g each night
