Gl;itch.eMemberTex- why would I lower my carb intake on my backload because of fat? No I haven't.Glitche-Last three nights basically the same, Egg Whites, Waffles, Butter, Corn Chex, The Milk for the cereal the first two nights had Hydro Whey, Leucine, and Dextrose in it. Last night I replaced the Dextrose with another cup of the Cereal and Kept the Leucine and Whey Hydro. And I was able to fall asleep much faster. I did wake up twice but only because I had to pi$$ like a racehorse.
I see a few things here which may cause problems. Too much liquids (waking up to pee), not a lot of real sugar, dextrose on its own. Cereals mostly starchy carbs. Can you break down your backload meals for me? Ill offer some suggestions based on that that might help.

Gl;itch.eMemberSleeping fantastic, especially since ditching ULC days altogether. My body hates being depleted even a little bit.
yeah Ive definately noticed better sleep since backloading at least some carbs every night. I have been doing other things to improve sleep but this was a big part.

No sir. I dont like it. Waiting on your message to look at the rest of the diet. But Id prefer some actual sugars in here. Dextrose on its own aint enough IMO.

Hey Caino. If you like could you flick me a message with your ULC days and some of your usual backloads? Want to see if anything stands out.

CBachelor17MemberSo I was going to start a new thread, but this seems like an appropriate thread to throw this in.Say I hit the gym @600 start the BL @730, feed up 'til 830. Would there be any neg side effects to staying up until like 1230 or so? Or is it best to hit the sack within an hour or two? (Additionally even if I stay up late ill be getting an adequate amount of sleep)

The earlier you can get to sleep the better. You get better sleep before midnight apparently. I read somewhere that an hour sleep before midnight is worth two after. A one hour feeding window is pretty small too. I get a good 2-3 hours but go straight to bed after the last meal. I guess it would depend on when you have to get up the next day. If youre not going to bed till like 10 or 11 I wouldnt feel the need to cram all your food down in such a short window.

CBachelor17MemberGotcha, whats the issue with the “Midnight” thing if i have no plans the next day and can sleep until I naturally wake up though? The “cramming” for me isnt really an issue, meaning Im not shoving my face until it hurts or anything. I get home and eat dinner, then take a shower. Once im comfy i eat again. Usually is about 60-90 window though.

The key with sleep is consistency. So its probably not such an issue if you are waking up and going to sleep at the same times. Its when its drastically different i.e 10-7 Monday-Friday and then 1-10 Saturday-Sunday or whatever. It's like trying to alter circadian rhythms too abruptly when we are used to the slow change of the seasons as our clock adjuster. You also cant really "make up" sleep debt like people thought. There was a good podcast about this on Superhuman Radio the other day actually.

CBachelor17MemberAhh i get it… I always get 7-8 hours of sleep. WEll there are exceptions but for the most part. Days like last night I have no plans for the next day so I just let my body sleep as long as it wants haha

RookieMemberSince switching to CBL from CNS I have been sleeping like a champ!!!Only 2 days in after prep phase with back to back gym and backload days...First night I woke up once from a crazy dream then woke up at normal time from another...Second night was dreaming again but woke up at normal time. Both times I've gotten up, I've felt great!

CBachelor17MemberSugary/Fatty BL's not for me. Sleep did not improve. Im going back to my standard feeding, most fats consumed during ULC. “Cleaner” Carbs with occasional treats. Most sugar coming from dextrose in baked goods and shakes. Last few that I went back to this I slept much better. All the simple sugars keep me up, and the fat is giving me a much more bloated look compared to when I BL with low fat.
