I'm in week 6 of CNS and seeing some progress.  I'm a little frustrated because I'm not seeming to lose any fat from my lower body like I am with my upper body, but fat loss is fat loss and I get that it isn't linear.  I plan on running CNS until at least my birthday, which is mid August, and would give me 4.5 months on CNS.Has anyone tried both protocols and found CBL to be better than CNS for fat loss?  If so, was each diet done as prescribed in the book or did you tweek something?  I had pretty good and fast fat loss results following Lean Gains a few years ago, which included carbs on my training days, so I just got to thinking if the same thing would hold true here.  Thanks!

The leaner I got the more re-feeds I needed, 2 a week, 3 a week, 4 a week, now I have carbs every night and still have one very high carb re-feed day and I've gotten great results. However, as a male you say you are holding onto lower body fat while leaning out up top, that makes the thought of a possible hormonal imbalance jump out at me. Have you had your hormones checked?

I haven't, but I've read that before and wondered that as well.

I mean, the more BF you carry, the more you will aromatize testosterone. What BF are you? If you are say... 20% and training hard (pretty sure you do CF) then you should try adding a second carb nite/backload.

I'm probably 25%, and I lift heavy as well as CF, with more intense CF stuff in the days following my carb nite. and then mostly lifting only in the days leading up to it.  That's a good idea, more of a hybrid approach to asses things?

Depends on training as well. I'm not sure if that is you in your avatar picture but why a CN? To me sounds like an excuse to just eat like whatever you want and then repeat the process later on. Try doing CBL. Just drink a PWO Shake with 20-30g dextrose, come home either 1 or 2 things, eating a nice dinner that is low fat then have a fatty dessert (not a whole lot) about an hour later. OR come home have a big carb meal consisting of what you want and that's it. 2-3x a week at least to start with. You want to keep your muscles full of glycogen to work harder and look good. Doing CNS at a low body fat will get you a dry look to possibly appear on stage (with the right kind of help) or make weight for an event. Those two take carefully fine tuning.

Hey man,Yeah thats me on the picture when I was sitting at my lowest BF%.I train everyday, I almost never have any day off.The reason why I started CN was to see if I could get back to that conditioning with a different method. I am not far away from that picture at the moment but my muscles don't look as hard ( Because of cheese maybe ? )I have bought both books and read them both. CN suits me better as I always train around 11h30 am - 12h am and I have found that it is a very flexible way of dieting and wanted to see if I could get back to "ultra shredded mode" while using it ( My previous diet was strict as hell and made me really frustrated )I know that in the CBL book they are adjustments that can be made to various time training windows but it is clearly written that working out at 11/12 am is the worst possible case scenario...All the best,K

I have better results when I backload everyday or almost everyday. However, I carry a decent amount of muscle and train very hard.
