I've been doing some calculations on trying to find the best priced fish oil.So far it's easily Natrols Omega 3:You can get a bottle for around 6 dollars and it had 150 servings with each containing 180mg of EPA and 120mg of DHA.  That's .3g per serving x 150 servings = 45g total per bottle.  You are essentially paying 15 cents per gram of EPA/DHA.  Plus, it's all natural.Anyone else find a better option?

You would need to take at least 16-18 pills each day to get the recommended 5g of combined EPA AND DHA. Personally I believe NOW Ultra Omega 3 is a better choice. Only have to take 6.

I find de 5g recomendation a bit strange if you consider that a 200pound guy has to take a the same as 130pound guy or the other way around

It's kind of a fallacy to think this way without digging deeper into how/why these things work.Otherwise we could also say that recommending 3-5g leucine for someone to spike insulin should vary depending on if they're 100 pounds or 200 pounds, etc etc..

I found this a few months ago then edited and updated for more current costs, it is by no means an all exhaustive comparison but uses most of what I would consider reputable brands. Last thing you want to be doing is taking rancid fish oil.https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmMApM3oD2O-dGtoVC0ycnFySEZEQ2FGdFdFZWNYZVE&usp=sharingAnyone with the above link should be able to view it, if you want to edit it you can always copy and paste into your own spreadsheet or if you want to update this one as a group CBL/CN thing PM me your email and I can add you to the editing list. Hope this  helps you guys I'm definitely more on the "need the see the numbers" type of person.

Omega 3s are NOT an essential fatty acid. The only study used to show they were essential used bad science. The symptoms of the "fatty acid deficiency" were reversed by vitamin b6 which was not known to exist at the time the study was done. Fish Oil is a polyunsaturated fat and causes trouble at the temperatures we humans run at. Its liquid at lower temperatures so that the cold water fish they come from dont freeze. We arent cold water fish. Ironically fish in warmer waters such as the amazon have a much higher saturated fat content and studies done on fish fed with food pallets high in omega 3s showed detriment to their endurance. So even fish oil isnt good for fish! LOL
