Tiago NicolauParticipantSo you guys are basically saying that the DHA+EPA intake recommended bny Kiefer was bad science or its just the fish oil supplements with no omega-3 content?

Gl;itch.eMemberSo you guys are basically saying that the DHA+EPA intake recommended bny Kiefer was bad science or its just the fish oil supplements with no omega-3 content?
Kiefer recommends Omega 3s based on their supposed method of action on cell membranes allowing the Glut-4 receptor to do its thing, not for their essentiallity or health benefits. However for this method of action to be useful it has to be believed that there is in fact cell membranes in the first place. Something Ive come to believe is not proven or even particularly logical. Anecdotally Ive ditched fish oil and removed all other polyunsaturated fats from my diet the last 2-3 months now and I am having a lot of success with backloading. All the inflammation I supposedly needed the fish oil for hasnt been a problem at all.

Tyler StephensParticipantSo what about grass fed over grain fed. I thought the premise of that choice was to even out the ratio?

Tiago NicolauParticipantI will only ditch the fish oil supp when i see the bottom line of investigation regarding the cell membrane existing or not,Until then, i had a lot of improvements by having fish oil in my diet and that was even before CBL, my inflamation problems improved and if thats placebo effect then my body is a hell of a magic machine..If i dont get the DHA-EPA from my diet(fish is too expensive), then how do my body metabolize it for its needs?

gorana francicMemberYou would need to take at least 16-18 pills each day to get the recommended 5g of combined EPA AND DHA. Personally I believe NOW Ultra Omega 3 is a better choice. Only have to take 6.
Where does he recommend 5g of combined EPA AND DHA?

gorana francicMemberFound it – one more question: When on CN do you take fish oil supplements when backolading or do you take them only on your ULC days?

Just out of curiosity, what has led you to believing that? I'm not agreeing or disagreeing, purely academic.. The lipid bilayer of cell anatomy is a pretty base biology concept, so it would be interesting to read stuff where they're finding something different. After all, at one time the Earth being flat was a pretty base geographic concept, ha..

Tiago NicolauParticipantAnd to add that, where is the research proving that sat fat makes cells age prematurely?

Interesting read, indeed. And follows some decent sounding logic. Thanks, Glitch!
