My progress so far has been good about 2 pounds a week until last week. I had a big CN about 700 carbs. I gained 7 pounds, and my next CN is coming up and iv only lost 2 of those 7, which kind of pisses me off but still dedicated to it. I guess my question is, if I start my CN at 6 and eat every 2 hours (6, 8, 10, 12) How many carbs should I consume at each feeding to cause a big enough insulin spike to get the hormonal effect that I need?I want to go back to what I was consuming around 500 for a CN it seemed to work for me but I dont want my metabolism to slow down. I recently cut my fat down to 140g/ 200g of protein, this might have to do to the big weight gain this week? Also, pickles? yes or no?Thanks for the help!

As for the insulin spikes, it's not necessarily the amount of carbs, it's more the types of carbs. Higher GI type stuff. You can also add 3-5g of leucine with each meal to potentiate a bigger insulin bump..

+1Whats your question about pickles? Just watch the amount you eat while on ULC. 1 spear of a whole dill = 1carb. So don't eat 10 at a time and you'll be ok. Its a good way to get some sodium in, and they are delicious of coarse.

Thanks! Yeah I love pickles, but since I gained so much weight last week, I was thinking maybe the sodium is making me retain water. I have been doing white rice, cereal, dextrose, donuts, mostly for carbs. Ill just stick to about 125 each feeding. Thanks again!

Probably to little sodium and not enough water… rather than to much. Your body flushes sodium pretty fast when ULC. Drink lots of H20!!
