Ok I am new to the boards an new to CNS. Kind of in the investigation phase as I have just found out about CNS. My question is are there anyone on the boards that are 350+ an had success with CNS? I have actually lost down from around 450 to 325 and it has started creeping up after a year or so. I am in the gym 3 to 4 days a week using 5/3/1 method. Thanks for any advice an help.

I am close to 6 months into CNS and, I started at 280 lbs.  As of this morning, I am just a little under 225 lbs.  I know there is another member here who, I think, is just finishing up his 10 day orientation phase.  Roaring Mad Mac is his name and his log is here  http://dangerouslyhardcore.com/forum/index.php?topic=3484.0  He also does a Vlog that you can follow as well.  He might be someone to compare notes and experiences with.  And, my advice to you is to read the boards as there is a lot of new information and changes to CNS.  The book is outdated and there have been some good changes made.  Start a log, use the search engine, ask questions if you can't find the answers or want some more detail.  You'll find this board to be full of helpful members.  And, have fun with the diet.

I am pretty sure there are members here who have. That said, it should work excellent for you (CNS).  You may find, in the beginning, you lose weight quite rapidly... but, that will taper off as you get closer to your lean-weight goals.I would recommend, once you feel lean enough, to do some CBL.  Your bodyfat will maintain, but you will add some lean mass, which will stoke your metabolic fires.  Then, head back to CNS, and burn until you feel you are ready to run CBL full-time, lean and muscular.Do something like this:6 months CNS, 1-2 months CBL, wash, rinse and repeat until you are lean enough (in your eyes) to run CBL entirely.Best of luck to you!Cory

thanks for the response so far. One question I do have is protein/fat amount. From what I have read 1g per bw of both. Is almost 400g's of both realistic?

At this point you would be better off aiming for 1-1.3g per lb of lean weight.

Great job on your progress thus far.  IMO and in the opinion of many in the medical community, a carbohydrate restricted diet or cyclic carb restricted deit (like CNS) is the diet of choice for rapid weight loss and, maybe just as important, repair of metabolic dysregulation.  Keep up the good work.

+1 Yep... as of today I'm sitting at 420 I've lost about 14 pounds thus far in the Reorintation phase. I still have two days left until my first carb nite. Needless to say I'm very excited about it. Keep up  with my log . I train rather heavy being a former power lifter. I'm not knew to the diet and exercise game but this is kind of new to me but I am understanding day in and day out the science behind it. If there are any questions feel free to ask.

I started at 320 lbs – I am finishing up my 3rd month next week – I'm down to 288 today.  Still a long way to go, but it's funny, just like Kiefer says, the fat loss looks totally different than just “weight loss.”  I got down to 268 on HCG years ago, but I actually look thinner at 288 doing this, than I did at 269 3 years ago.  I bought a suit at 269 that was still a little snug, sure I would just keep dropping.  I soon went back up over 300…A couple of weeks ago I had to go visit with a client and I laughed saying, "I wish I had a suit that fit..." and then just to see if it was even possible, I took it out and put it on - it actually is looser than it was when I was at a lower weight.I can't say I still don't worry - after having done so many diets and letting myself go all the way back, that this could happen again, but that is my own shit and if I do it's because of my own issues.  I believe I can do this and the muscle that I build will help me from jumping back up!  YAY!

You can do this Jeresk. It's your body, and you're in control. Check out a book called Brain Over Binge on Amazon if you have any doubts about this x
