Wfbeast70KeymasterHello all. I just wanted to post this on here and see what everyone thought of the diet plan. Since I am so large, I decided to use my “desired weight” to come up with the amount of protein that I should be taking in. If that is wrong or not sound logic, let me know. Also, this is based on an 8-5pm call center management job, so I have to get my meals in when I can. Pork was used because it was the best priced meat that I could afford to buy in bulk this week. I can tweak and adjust accordingly, but this is what I had in the freezer/fridge at the time. recovery and laziness from my lingering injuries brought me to the fat gain that I have recently seen. I know it will be more beneficial to me if I was leaner and more agile in competition. (there is a long road ahead before next comp) I am focused on rehabilitation, maintaining strength and losing fat through this process.I saw this template through the Youtube videos posted by Mark bell and decided that this was the best bet for me to really kick start my weightloss. I would like to lose 40LBs. through this process and am eager to see how my body responds to this type of diet. Current Stats-6'7"380 LBs. Wfbeast70Guestwell… Either this is perfect, it sucks to complete holy hell or I am impatient. I switched over to 80/20 beef. I did not realize how expensive grass fed beef was going to be. Also, it is a PIA to find where I am. Most big box grocery stores do not carry anything of that quality. Weight after the first week was down to 369. Easter was a crap shoot, but I stayed far away from carbs as possible. Sleep has been hit or miss lately. I think that has to do with personal issues more than the diet. I felt lethargic at the gym yesterday doing squats. I am going to attribute that to the sleep. I am going to do a HIIT session this afternoon and then tomorrow will be my first carbnite. Works out well with work schedule and will allow me to do another HIIT session saturday morning. Fasting from around 830-9 PM to around 11 the next day. 3 big meals in a day is taking some getting used to. Need to add a PWO, which is in the mail as we speak. Protein is averaging around 300Fat is staying in the 160-170 rangecarbs are under 10-15 for the most part.

jpmanzGuestJust a now that Splenda in packets and the granular is actually cut with maltodextrin, so depending on your usage, this may be a problem. I would nix that and switch to stevia (pure powder variety, avoid the handy packeted sweeteners, same issue with most of then) or find the liquid Splenda. Also, you might consider replacing the chicken and coconut oil meals with some beef and adding some omega-3's in your day somewhere (at least 6 grams a day).

Wfbeast70GuestThanks. I kind of had that idea with the Splenda, so I purchased some stevia to sweeten my coffee. Also, I have slowly been trying to add more beef to the diet. That grass fed business is expensive though. So far everything has been going well. I think I overdid the first Carbnite, but the second one went much better and I felt better throughout the week from it. Current weight is 365. I feel pretty good for the most part. Thursdays definitely drag for me, but my next day is the carbnite and that is what powers me through.Strength in the gym is returning. Bench press is still a crap shoot, but overhead press is going well. Squat is back up in the low 500's and my power and speed on the deadlift is there. I haven't pushed it too hard as of yet, but I can feel my strength getting there and my weight dropping. Thank God.

Ry DiggsMemberkeep pushin, baby! You rly can't do much wrong at this stage of the gameI know grass fed ANYTHING can be a bit pricey, but look at it this way...most 1lb packages of 93/7 grassfed ground beef are about $1.00 to $1.50 more than convetional 93/7 ground beef..and the taste is immeasurably bettarwhen you look at the grand scheme of things, it's not that much more expensivealso...i can buy a decent quality cut 32oz grassfed steak for around $16-17 at the store. if you go out to eat at applebees, that's the same price as their 10oz NY strip. I urge you to re-examine the cost of going grassfed...it'll change your life

Wfbeast70Guestthe taste difference is definitely big. I have had some and I do try to implement grass fed, organic or natural beef, chicken or pork when I can. A co-worker has a bead on a grass-fed farm near me that will do bulk orders for fairly competitive prices. Picked up the Sweetleaf Stevia sweetener for my morning coffee. It isn't bad, but I am going to mess around and see if there is anything else out there that will taste better. Added some sprints 2 times a week and haven't seen too much difference in overall recovery or energy levels. Today is Thursday, so I am dragging. Added a PWO to help cut the cost of eating whole foods. Fake chocolate never tasted so good!! Ha. Thanks for the advice and encouragement.
