LiquidMercuryMemberThis would be good to get clarification on with Kiefer. Maybe someone can ask in the biojacked podcasts (I already asked my question and don't want to bombard it heh).

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorIt seems to be that when you get to very low BF% levels you sometimes need to have a carbnight every 4 days to keep hormones humming a long. You do want to eat lots of carbs though, way more then the 300-350g you are eating right now. 500-700 would be a better place I'd imagine.

Haha it's cool to ask more than one question. I do it all the time. Better to ask and learn then to sit back in the "class" and be dumb. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

Exactly what I've been doing depending how I feel and how active I am during the week. Granted it might not be too smart but I WANT that level of leanness! Haha. Yeah second the amount of carbs to take in. A good rough estimate is the 300-350g for CBL (every night) and (what I do) a rough estimate of 500-700g for CN. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

I was using the 300-350 based on the chart from CBL and how much I had lost in the prep phase (sadly I don't seem to hold a lot of glycogen).

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorWow, that's kind of shocking. Did you eat low carb prior to doing the prep phase? Anyway, you still want more when doing carb night.Being once a week you are meant to go ape-shit crazy. Or at least some what crazy.

Not low carb but my carb intake wasn't what most people would consider high. 200-250g or so/day.After I finish up with nationals (and maybe with some input from Kiefer on this if I can get him to chime in on biojacked) I'll probably change some things up.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorSounds like a soild plan.I don't blame you on wanting to avoid to much fiddling till after nationals.

zewskiMemberDude. You're huge! You need way more carbs on your carb nite. I have a portion of your muscle mass and still consume upwards of 800g's of carbs on carb nite. Next CN just go balls to the wall fuckin nuts and I doubt you'll have issues.

sckielyParticipantI would suggest the 2x a week idea. You are pretty lean and wanting to go lower, so rather than switch to CBL plan your 2 carb nites a week to coincide with your 2 biggest workouts. Maybe Tuesday and Friday so there is some good time between sessions. Train just before each carb nite then do some HIIT the next morning to deplete as much as possible.Just an idea

Damon AmatoParticipantI would add that even though I think I know what I'm talking about, it's hard to give advice to someone who could poke my eye out with their abs.

Yah I was doing that before going down to one a week. In general I'd load them on Wed/Sat though Sat would be delayed carb up instead near my training since I squat in the mornings. I think some of it is finding my appropriate carb levels over two days. May need to go around 500g or so.I don't have much trouble staying around the leanness that I am in that picture but I've never really gotten what I would call shredded. My waist has always stayed relatively wide (probably from the heavy oblique work and heavy compound movements) and I'd just like to get super lean before I start adding size back on since the leaner I get the more muscle I'm able to back on before I get out of my "I can make weight from here" range which is about 202 lbs at the high end of my range.@Dmunnee - just because I may be larger and stronger doesn't mean I am unable to learn from someone. The day I stop learning is the day I fail as a coach.

sckielyParticipantThe waist thickness issue is something I can relate too. I am fairly lean (12-13%) and am happy at present to stay there, however even when I have been at 6-7% I was still wider there than people I competed against! Not something I worry about, just have to make above the waist bigger and thighs bigger so waist looks smaller

LiquidMercuryMemberQuite true. After this meet I'll start tinkering with higher carb intake. For now I'm staying in EZ-mode until the meet so I don't mess my weight drop up.

Yes! LiquidMercury, please, ask away. The more people we get asking questions (including repeat offenders, haha) the better of a show it will be. Any questions we can't get to, we'll try to cover them by answering within the forum post for the show.
