    It's not that progress has stalled it just really hasn't happened.  I've been relatively the same bodyfat % for the past 8 weeks and with my workload I'm surprised not much has happened.  CBL isn't exactly what I'm looking to do as that adds weight on which makes my cut down to the 181's even harder.  I did a 21 lb cut last time the day before weigh ins and I'm trying to make that closer to 14-15 lbs for nationals.

    I dropped approx. 13 lbs before I hit my stall.  I went from 230 lbs, to about 217 lbs -- then it remained.  I found that by adjusting my macros from 50/50 protein/fat, to 70/30 protein/fat, my weight loss ramped-up again -- big time!  Even my water weight, after a CN, wasn't so profuse, or long-lasting.  We're talking 1-2 days of holding mass water, as opposed to 3-4 days.Furthermore, I am naturally endomorphic (metabolism-wise, not structurally).  So, I hold fat and water EASILY, and this switch worked for me.I based my diet around one of the simple high-cal diets in book, where the fat was 130g, and the protein 220g, per day.Not saying this will work for you, but it hit the spot for me.  It also brought my calories WELL below maintenance, which is helping.  I was at about 16x lean bodyweight in cals, previously.  Now, I am at around 12x lean bodyweight in cals.  I am NOT hungry (the fat / protein levels keep that satiated), and my energy levels are solid (and I do both bodybuilding and competative martial arts).Cory

    How was your strength with the changes?  The big thing for me is minimizing strength loss while leaning out.  I'm thinking about increasing my carbs significantly on my 2 CBL days (squat and deadlift).I believe I read somewhere that those that were previously coming from a low carb diet wouldn't have as high of a delta during the prep phase and thus may need to go much higher.

    Oh, you're doing CBL, not CN?  CBL caused me to maintain bodyfat levels, while increasing muscle and strength.  Wasn't good for my bodytype when it comes to leaning out... that is why I am running CN, right now.  I will go back to CBL once I get down to 10-12% bodyfat.  CN works much quicker than CBL, for those who can lean-out on both programs.In your case, DEFINITELY.  On your backloading days (or your single carb nite if you ever follow CN), you should start consuming carbs at sundown / post 5pm... and just gorge!  Start with carb sources that are lower in fat, but as the night moves on, pile on cakes, pies, donuts, cookies, etc.  Keep carb ingestion coming from fast / simple carbs, not slower / complex carbs -- for the most part.  Keep it up for 6 straight hours, then sleep.As for my strength... it continues to climb, even at my lower cals.  I don't mean rapid increases, but slow, incremental.  At least I am not losing strength!  However, the weight is also dropping... at a rate of 1-2 lbs. a week.The only two exercises that I am stuck on, strength-wise, are BB Curls and BB Upright Rows -- but my bis and delts are my lagging muslces -- always have been.  Other than that, my Squats, Deads, all major Presses, are climbing.Cory

    Have a CN every 4 days, just be sure to train heavy and do HIIT (if you want) after the CN. Though I wouldn't think you would be able to get away a lot like every 7 days. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

    Sorry to hijack your thread for a minute...How's that working for you Tex? I've been following your journey and I know how you've been searching for the "sweet spot" for quite some time.

    Well it all depends on how I feel and train that week. Once in a while I'll do the every four days sometimes I'll just wake a week. I know that if I limit my protein intake and keep my CN carbs to around 700-800g with my fats around 200g and not take in a bunch of water, I'll wake up feeling pretty good and look pretty good. If I do this, my weight will get below what it was on my Carb Nite in about 2 days time. With keeping my carbs very low during the week and doing a pretty good job with fats/protein I'll look somewhat leaner when I wake every morning. Also taking in the gluten-free foods, non-dairy foods, I won't get bloated during my CN. I quite enjoy baking the GF treats and getting GF treats as well. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
