biovaanGuestWouldn't these inhibit fat burning during workouts?
Yes, but everything is contextual. Strength training is not the only time ppl can burn fat during their day. Meadow's sums this up well. To paraphrase him....The early part of the day is for fat burning, working out is for building muscle. Now, if your chubby, and your primarily goal is fat loss. intraworkout carbs probably aren't what your looking to do. If your doing a singles on the bench press, there also probably unnecessary.
X2 and the HBCD's have a much faster rate of gastric emptying than vitargo (ie lower osmality)
Are you sure? I'm confused as according to OP, HBCD's avg molecular weight is 160 000 Da but Vitargo seems to have even higher molecular weight, 500 000 - 700 000 Da (equal to 11 mOsm/kg).I've been thinking about adding intra shake with vitargo. I could get my hands on it with 45€/2kg (~ $13.5 per pound) but waxy maize seems to be almost half the prize...

Awesome let us know what you think!

lewism6MemberJust be sure to sip on the Intra not chug it
Hi Tex. What's the reasoning behind this? Not questioning you at all. I'm just interested in the rationale. I've been chugging on mine. Doh!

mwachtelParticipantI gotta say, for those who are getting the glycofuse. Its pretty great stuff. Yesterday, I actually kkind of panic'd during my workout. I noticed I wasn't feeling very fatigued or anything, and I was worrying I wasn't pusing myself hard enough. I was going over what I did, and it seemed normal. I hd also just got down with a round of metabolic training, and usually that whoops me for the rest of the session, so I wasn't exactly sure. The oonly thing different is the glycofuse. I was in the gym for 2 hrs last night, and had to tell myself its time to go. Stuffs legit.

Richard SchmittModeratorI would assume it cause you to become hypoglycemic, if I'm using the word correctly. Plus I would think that sipping on a Intra shake to help you continue the intensity in your training. I'm sure Kiefer has better reasonings behind this than I do but it's an opinion.

Actually I have been just chugging it, and coming home yesterday, I was going a little hypo. Nothing crazy, but enough to notice it.

If he went hypo he would end up weak and dizzy feeling most likely. It sounds like you just had more energy and glycogen to push through because of the GF.

Richard SchmittModeratorThen by all means, continue chugging and keep pushing through it. I would if I knew I had the energy to keep going

You have to remember, by the time I was driving home, I had ingested the GF over an hour before, and meantime I just got done w/ metabolic training, followed up w/ shoulder and back work , coupled w/ short rest periods. I put all 25 of those carbs to work!

mwachtelParticipantSo yes the GF did give me great energy, but 25g of any carb will only get you so far.

bdw531MemberMade my first shake tonight:- 1 scoop custom mix protein (65% peptopro, 35% whey isolate)- 1 scoop glycofuse- 3 g leucine* put this in a blender bottle and it foamed up quite a bit, stayed foamy for most of the workoutIt was chest and biceps day on the shockwave protocol. - 3 x 10 flat barbell bench (started sipping shake before last set and sipped in between each set after this)- ELECT set incline barbell bench 5x3- ELECT set dips 5x3- dumb bell pullovers 3 x 12By this point I was feeling a nice pump in my chest, but plenty of energy. I typically do a couple of 2 rep barbell bench presses, but I thought I'd test myself and did strip sets of dumb bell benches (9 sets, 5 reps) with minimal rest. My chest was smoked at this point but I could still get controlled reps. I had to tell myself to stop. Switched to biceps- ELECT set barbell curls with FAT GRIPZ (big pump)- 3 x3 close grip chins- 2 x 12 hammer curlsFinished with 100 reps triceps pushdowns (35, 35, 30). Still felt like I had some left in the tank, but decided to shut it down. Waited 15 minutes and made post workout shake:- 1.5 scoops custom blend (Micellar Casein [Milk] (25%)PeptoPro – Hydrolyzed Caseinate [Milk] (20%)Whey Protein Isolate – CFM Cross-Flow Microfiltration [Milk] (35%)Hydrolyzed Whey Protein High Grade [Milk] (20%)- 1 scoop dextrose- 6g leucineFeeling a little jittery as I type this and eat leftover pizza and wings. We'll see how I feel tomorrow, but I like it so far!

MikehrMemberGreat to hear man and nice workout! One suggestion is that the whole point of the HBCDs is the low osmality and extremely fast gastric emptying so for your next order I would mix it with straight pepto pro or hydro whey. WPI isn't ideal, CT mentioned this a few time when regarding anaconda

JakeMemberSo I workout Monday, Wednesday, Friday doing a power-lifting routine and thus have been back-loading Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. However I still notice that towards the middle-end of my workouts (Mondays and Fridays) I feel a bit drained. I just ordered some glycofuse to take during my monday and friday workouts so because of this I was thinking about switching up my CBL days to days I lift. Also note wednesday is a very light day. I was thinking about doing this: CBL on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays and use glycofuse during my monday and friday workouts. What do you guys think of that plan? Open to any suggestions. Obviously want performance during my Monday and Friday workouts but am also looking to lose fat efficiently.
