JakeMemberYes the issue is that your ingesting a lot of fat that needs to be burned off somehow, so you want that to be the primary fuel source.
Isn't the same goal as CBL? I agree that total fat burned would not be as much as you would burn not having intra-workout carbs but do you really think taking in 25 grams of carbs during a couple workouts a week during CNS would prevent fat loss? I guess that's what I'm trying to get at.
No definitely not but it changes the diet, ULC days are more of a hormonal scenario that burns the fat, hence why people can eat soo many ULC cals and lose fat when you include those carbs it makes this process a lot harder IMO.If you look at my log I tried it for a while and saw much better results with the glycofuse pwo rather than intra because post was used directly for replenishing glycogen rather than an energy source.-Mike
Alright, thanks. I'll check it out

dudsyMemberI tried the grape vitargo the other day during my workout. How can a carb supp be so expensive and still taste like ass?

Glycofuse is AMAZING. Wish I had picked up more. Oh well need to focus on fat loss now anyway. But highly suggest it to others.

Hmm is that basically the same supp? Ie intra-workout carb? How does it mix? Vitargo cant even get that right, sticky gloopy syrup at the bottom of my shake 😛

MikehrMemberNo the ingredients are different, not sure what Vitargo is but Glyfcofuse is pure HBCDs which is supposed to be the best intra-wo workout carb due to the very low osmality.

dudsyMemberOk. ive got the tub of vitargo here and the 1st ingredient listed in 'hair of monkey ass'……Just kiddingits fractionated barley amylopectin, both claim to do the same thing. I will try glycofuse if i make it through this tub.

MikehrMemberhahaha I am just a sucker for anything meadows reccomends and I read about HBCDs on his site so figured Id hop on the bandwagon and the stuff is awesome!

tzanghiParticipantI've recently given pre-workout oats a try, and I have to say it has worked just fine. I know if we're debating HBCDs, we're debating the absolute optimal protocol, but if you're having trouble with dextrose in an intra-workout shake, and you can't afford an HBCD product, I suggest just taking some proats immediately pre-workout. Just a suggestion.

You using any of his training protocols? Im trying to gather as much of his stuff as i can to kick of my next size gaining/cbl phase. I would like to pay him but cant afford it. I have saved all his articles off T-nation & subscribe to his mountain dog express but im always looking for more.

I used to use a lot of his splits from the exclusive site, but not I just incorporate his exercises where I can!

Marty P KochParticipantTrue Nutrition now has HBCDs as part of their custom mix tool for $10.99/#. Not sure what Glycofuse works out to be, but this seems like a pretty good deal.

Marty P KochParticipantYou're welcome. I went back and priced out the Glycofuse, and @25g of actual product (+3g other stuff=28g total) per scoop, it looks like it comes out to be about $20.60/#. Granted the TN bulk version will come out a little more than $10.99 once you add flavoring, etc. and possibly the plastic jug, but still nowhere near the Brand Name total.Ordered some yesterday for a test run. We'll see if it makes a difference.
