Cory McCarthyMemberhttp://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12659241?dopt=Abstract"The purpose of this study is to gain understanding of the relationship between ejaculation and serum testosterone level in men. The serum testosterone concentrations of 28 volunteers were investigated daily during abstinence periods after ejaculation for two phases. The authors found that the fluctuations of testosterone levels from the 2nd to 5th day of abstinence were minimal. On the 7th day of abstinence, however, a clear peak of serum testosterone appeared, reaching 145.7% of the baseline ( P < 0.01). No regular fluctuation was observed following continuous abstinence after the peak. Ejaculation is the precondition and beginning of the special periodic serum testosterone level variations, which would not occur without ejaculation. The results showed that ejaculation-caused variations were characterized by a peak on the 7th day of abstinence; and that the effective time of an ejaculation is 7 days minimum. These data are the first to document the phenomenon of the periodic change in serum testosterone level; the correlation between ejaculation and periodic change in the serum testosterone level, and the pattern and characteristics of the periodic change."How far are you willing to go for your performance? One way I could see it working (and being capitalized on) would be:1. Refrain from ejaculation for the seven days.2. On the seventh day, increase ALCAR dosages (to increase receptor sites for free-test).3. On the seventh day, train a lagging bodypart or bodypart you wish to improve.4. On the eighth day, engage in an activity of your choosing by which to ejaculate, resetting your body, and begin the celibacy cycle again the following day.5. Repeat steps 1-5.Cory

Richard SchmittModeratorYeah I could see that helping a certain goal, like getting up on stage or needing to improve a general area.

This study is funny b/c my Sensei always pushes NO SEX of any kind (even solo) for a week before a fight. I dunno if he knows about this study (doubtful), or if that was something he found works, and/or perhaps learned from his own Sensei.Suffice to say, I never lost a fight... and I'll do anything (healthy) to be the best, or achieve a certain goal.Cory

Brandon D ChristParticipantI tried this and I thought it worked really well. I had a lot more energy and I felt stronger. Dave Asprey had post on this a few weeks ago.

Interesting! Not to pry, but did you do as I theorized? 7 days of celibacy, followed by a "reset", and then cycle again?Just curious.Cory

I actually went longer than 7 days.

Did you eventually notice a decline? The study shows a peak @ day 7, but no change going longer.Cory

Not really I lasted about 12 days until I had to *relieve* myself, but I believe it plateaus after 7 days.

Got it.I wonder if it plateaus @ the higher level (i.e., no decrease), so if one were to run this indefinitely, if test levels would remained in a peaked state (i.e., no further increase, but at least maintainence). The only issue is, that while one might be able to control oneself to the point of utter celibacy for a long-haul, the body might retaliate (i.e., night emissions). There are factors out of control. I guess give it a go until the body revolts involuntarily.Cory

That's cool! So, I guess men of the order, the ones who truly practice what they preach, are walking about with high "T". LOL. Fancy that.Cory

Well, women have to stop using hormonal birth control to lose fat, and I don't trust any other method so I'm just not going to have sex until I reach my goal of 12% body fat. (Talk about motivation...)Good thing I'm not in a relationship. I can imagine that not being a very popular decision.
