Hey all I just wanted to check in and say, my energy levels are awesome on CNS. I have never done zero carb before, I have done very low carb such as a Mens Health Diet called TNT, it was by Jeff Volek. Anyways I had great success on TNT but like many I changed jobs and had every excuse in the world to start eating the SAD again. Anyways I decided the day after Christmas to make a change and here I am. The sad thing is I wish I had started earlier. I bought the book last year but decided I felt lousy after only the first 10 days of doing the depletion and first Carb Nite so I switched to a diet that had gotten me to lose about 25 LBS, (Slow Carb). You know I found that when I went to Slow Carb I didn't really like all the beans that Tim Ferris recommends, it caused issues with my body that I wasn't aware of before. So here it is I am 24 days down and tomorrow is Carb Nite 3. I lost about 10 lbs so far on the scale. I have noticed inches lost but in the past week I have really payed attention to the scale number. I noticed a few comments by Mark Bell and Jesse Burdick, that said you can expect to lose 20-40 lbs of fat in 3 months I listen to them speak and Mark has really made some big improvements in his physique, in fact his changes is what really convinced me to give Carb Nite another try.  Is this amount of Fat Loss over zealous considering those guys are super trained athletes? Thanks for reading my little rant. There are a number of factors to take into consideration when talking about what you could lose. Both of them had large amounts of fat to lose so it will go quicker. It's possible you could lose 20-40lbs in 3 months depending on your starting point. There is also the question of possible supplementation they may be using.Anyway, Carb nite is a great diet and when done correctly and you get yourself dialed in the whole thing become effortless.

No doubt they had large amounts of fat to lose. I started at 230, down to 219 as of tonight. I was just curious how realistic that was. I know in the past I lost from 230 down to 175 but it took about 4 months, honestly I would like to be around 185-190 this time but weight is not a major factor its stripping fat.

A few years ago, I discovered that the actually process of dropping 50+ pounds wasn't that difficult once I committed to it.  It's losing the last 5-10 pounds while maintaining muscle that takes extra time and effort.

As far as my experience has gone I find the rate of weight loss is vastly exaggerated.. That being said I have never been able to stick to a particular way of eating for this long (roughly 5 months now). At the rate Im going itll take me upwards of a year to achieve the results I want before starting CBL, but the main thing is I know I can put the time in to do it using this diet, or better yet, lifestyle change.. which is how you should look at it anyways

Thank you!!! OMGZ I was about to scream with everyone saying how much weight they have lost and how easy it is. This has NOT been easy for me and the whole lifting heavy five days per week makes it nigh on impossible to gauge via the scales. 50lbs? I've been at this a while and my scales haven't done more than +/- 2 lbs...P.S. I pretty much just eat the detox diet now so am hoping my body will catch up soon!

The way I look at it, if getting ripped was quick and easy, all of america would be ripped instead of fat as shit. The journey makes it worth while. Keep on trucking!

It'd be a lot easier if we didn't get fat in the first place! 🙂

I made it past the 30 day mark and basically am at the same scale weight. I have noticed some changes in physique which is a good thing. Hopefully keep up this way of eating for as long as takes.

My body took an exceptionally long time to adapt to CN, my first month on seemed anabolic as my strength was great but seemed to lose no fat and the headaches were constant. Im now 5 months in and just switched from a muscle maintenance stance (high reps moderate to heavy weight) to a much more intense high reps, heavy weight to failure/almost to with high reps, Im burning fat and am stronger than ever.

+1 on the intensity, once you get that part of the jigsaw I think it makes a huge difference.
