I know for CNS the book says the CN spacing should be at least 5 days from the last but no more then 7 days. I'm trying to get my carb nite to land on a Saturday night so I'm manipulating the days. Have any of you noticed a difference in the diet working if you did the carb nite on night 5 vs night 6 or night 7. If you do it earlier are the results not as good? Should I try to wait to night 6 at least? Are more days between better?

The leaner you get, the more beneficial it is to have your carb nite sooner (providing your glycogen stores are depleted). I can't remember the exact numbers, but I believe it's something like this:Over 20%BF - Every 7 days15-19%BF - every 6 days10-14%BF - every 5 daysUnder 10%BF - every 4 days

your goal after your CN is to get glycogen depleted as fast as possible, so personally, I think splits between CN can very greatly person to person, activity level to activity level. With women, its going to be a little harder for you guys generally b/c your body really enjoys not taping into glycogen stores unless your really pushing your body, making it more difficult to deplete quickly. That being said, I think if you wanted to be a little more free, in terms of splits between CN, I think you would be fine if one week you decided to go 5 days compared to 7, just try to really ramp up your activity level (resistance training perferred) for those 5 days, and maybe (MAYBE) keep the CN alittle more tame that week (perhaps just make it low(er) fat).

+1!Here's my input (.02) in this as well, I've been experimenting with having a CN every 6th day or so. Having training compliment said split for both HIIT and lifting. I kid you not, I lost over 5-8lbs doing so, while improving strength. Like Matt said, women do hold onto glycogen stores so much more than men do. So you have to deplete accordingly. My question to you is there a reason in wanting to have a CN every 5th day instead of waiting an entire week? Is this goal to drop body fat, to recomp and make it on stage? Or just to have carbs? If it is because to have carbs, that's the wrong attitude to have. If it is because of a social gathering that might pop up from time to time, then a CN on the 5th day (for example) is ok. Definitely not trying to bash anything you plan on doing or goals, just helping set a plan in motion and to be consistent.

Oh, NO, NO, NO… doing a carb nite on the 5th day has NOTHING to do with wanting to have carbs. Of course I'm doing this to lose body fat. I would wait 2 weeks if I was told to. I'm STRICTLY asking because yes, I have a TON of social events that fall on Saturday nights in Jan, Feb and March and as of right now my carb nite is on a Tuesday night. I have to do a couple 5 or 6 day carb nites in order to get it to fall on Saturday night without breaking to 5-7 day rule. Once I get to Saturday nights, I plan to keep it at 7 days until my body fat gets low enough to do the 5 or 6. However when the topic popped up, I thought I would ask the question and if anyone else has tried 5, 6 or 7 days and see the difference.

Oh yeah I meant no offense or anything and I completely understand the circumstances. Just train and eat accordingly and you'll be just fine

I would just do a small backload on tuesday then deplete that little bot of glycogen wed-friday and have your CN on saturday!

Sure, just ratchet it back as you need to adjust your schedule. If you have enough lead time time to use 6 day intervals, do that. If you have to adjust quicker, do that. A couple weeks of shorter intervals shouldn't hurt you much. Like others said, train hard to deplete your glycogen stores as much as possible before the next CarbNite, which for women seems to require significant HIIT along with the resistance training. Pay attention to your body... once you feel like shiit during HIIT, you're there  😮

This interests me as well..  I am on my first carb night and concerned that I might not have been completely carb depleted enough..  I do HIITS and haven't felt like shit yet, at least not more than I tend to when I do them..  I have an inner fear that I wasn't, on key, enough with my prep..  🙁

the first time i did the prep it was only about 7 days because i did HIIT to deplete. i felt some brain fog but nothing too intense. i've done a few other re-preps and never really felt anything terrible, so i think it just depends on the individual and how adapted they can be to converting to low carb.

I have had a few times during the depleting time that I feel like a total tired air head… and I can't even do HIIT right now until my doctor clears me. I get “stupid” where I feel like i can't focus or even answer a question. I also feel fizzy and light headed. Do you all think thats from the lack of carbs because I'm normally a pretty sharp person who juggles a lot during the day.
