Instead of touch and go give Dead Stops a try.  This will allow the weight to settle after each rep. So instead of doing 1s x 5reps you'll do 1s x 1x1x1x1x1.  So your basically pulling 5 singles.  Not only will this help increase your deadlift but it's also HARDER and more badass! Hope this helps!

Before seeing this thread, I ended up instinctively using this technique ^. I am not a strength athlete or powerlifter, simply a guy trying to get bigger and stronger. However, I get why the powerlifters do singles, doubles, and tripples now (something I've never attempted). It allows for perfect form everytime and requires a lot more brute strength and power. Anyways, I tried the various techniques discussed in this thread...I felt a little too unbalanced on a bench inside the powerrack (sort of narrow) and the boxes werent the correct height so I eneded up doing pulling basically 10 singles and worked my way up in weight to 6 singles 1x1x1x1x1x1. I recommend this technique for anyone who has to deal with the issue of attempting deadlifts using hexagon shaped weight plates.
