No real benefit other than a comfort routine. I'm kind of hooked on them. The zero is like liquid crack to me. Used to guzzle gallons of those but now just save one can during a backload. I realize the empty value of them but I enjoy them. They do way more for me than just water.

The bottom line is I can drink anything even black coffee if I have to. Just trying to stay in the fat burning non insulin spike fasted zone during the morning. Diet cokes get me by and will do them from time to time but will quit if it disrupts optimal performance.

For fat loss avoid any soda, diet or otherwise. There have been reports that diet soda is even worse for you than regular soda. Artificial sweetener are apparently worse for you than actual sugar. Also anything with High fructose syrup or glucose syrup, as it also known as, should be avoided. This stuff will put on the fat and it is hard to get rid of it. This means that a lot of energy drinks are out of the question as well.

Kiefers article explains it as it is different dependent on the person. I agree that it shouldn't be consumed on a nonstop basis but having a few here or there isn't going to totally derail progress. My biggest concern would be to make sure you're getting enough water in to balance out the diet soda. I would limit them to backloads, your CN, or one or two a week.

I figured as much. I know diet and not the zero are relatively safe during ulc. I just hate water. Will go back to seltzer. To further complicate things would the natural flavoring a in soda water maybe have any negative effects on insulin?

I've occasionally tried almond milk in my coffee when I forget to buy cream the day before. I never much cared for it in my coffee, just seemed to change the color but not the taste. However, if you enjoy that's all that matters. 🙂 Good for you not drinking diet soda this morning!

Full fat canned coconut milk is amazing. Leave a can overnight in the fridge. Next morning whip it up with some Stevia and put in coffee. You'll get added benefits from coconut milk, cream, MCTs, and the goodness.

I suppose you're not having very much, but the coconut milk in a can, 1/4th cup is said to have 3 carbs in it. I assumed that would be too many carbs in the morning and leave it to my noon coffee. I would love to add some coconut milk into my coffee, that sounds great, but the carbs?

My coconut cream has only 1.6g carbs per 100ml and I doubt I'd have more than a 1/4C daily so not many carbs at all. Maybe the brand you're looking at has fillers or other carby ingredients added?

My sure how much this pertains but, have you tried Pepsi one? They use suclarose as their primary sweetener

It's not so much about the sweetener as it is about what it will do. I've read here many times diet coke without ace k is acceptable during ulc. Just more curious about the effect in the morning during the fast. I realize that is dependant on the individual and a certain amount of trial and error is required. Will skip it for the most part and go back to coffee due to the fact that soda isn't probably the best idea for any diet. Moderation will be the key for me from now on.
