Long story short, I did 6 weeks of SA (maybe a touch of DB) and heavy lifting to gain some muscle mass. I was doing carbs every night I lifted, as per the plan. I saw excellent results, but now it's time to cut back on the backloads so I can see my hard earned new muscle instead of just bloating 🙂 … I plan to do 2, maybe 3 backloads a week so I can keep my strength up as I am a pretty intense lifter. I'm just not 100% sure which days to do them. I'm a long-term intermittent fasting person, and have been for quite a while. When I'm trying to get leaner, I do a 6-8 hour eating window from about 2pm-8/10pm (Kiefer Coffee in the morning usually). While adding muscle, I was doing the 4pm training time as prescribed. However, I train fasted around noon during the leaning out process. I workout M-F. I do heavy compound days on M-W-F, and more detail oriented days with some HIIT on Tuesday and Thursday. I know Kiefer says for fasted training, to backload the evening before you know you'll be working out, which is fine. I guess I just don't know which evening I should do it on. Do it on my detail days to fill up the stores for the heavy compound days, or do it on days I lift heavy for more recovery and glycogen purposes, or maybe one of both? Opinions welcomed. Thanks!
