Brian M EckstromParticipantI think (correct me if I'm wrong) they are talking about the beans you can get from a store (not HEB though, I looked, dang them) not the coffee drink you get directly from Dunkin Donuts.

SpatzModeratorI just stopped by walmart to snag some dunkin donuts…. the ONLY flavor sold out in all of the coffee was the Pumpkin Spice. Grr. I'm trying jelly donut though in a few days. 🙂

Jets486MemberWhat was the “official” word on flavored (the boxes all say natural and artificially flavored) coffee? I'm getting jealous reading this thread without knowing if those flavoring are ULC-friendly.

i'm pretty sure they are. i've used them and not had any problems. the only time i avoid "flavor" is when the ingredients say something like "fruit juice extract" or "fruit juice concentrate", like on diet mountain dew. and an energy drink i'm not 100% sure but i think its the red rockstar pure zero (silver can w/ red accents). probably not a big deal, but unless i'm sure about something, i tend to avoid it lol

SpatzModeratorJust a quick note. Some flavored coffees are not gluten free, just something to check if you are wanting flavored coffee and are gluten intolerant.

I wonder if it was because of gluten or just because your body thinks flavored coffees are for sissies? 😉 That would be interesting to observe.. if people who think or say their stomachs can't handle flavored coffees if it may actually be a gluten issue? Heres a link where it lists a few of the flavored coffees that are GF (IE: Godiva, Barnies, and k-kups) http://www.glutenfreegigi.com/sipping-your-poison-hidden-gluten-in-flavored-coffees-may-be-making-you-sick/ I'm interested to read more into it. Since I'm a flavored coffee drinker myself and want to go as GF as possible.

I honestly couldn't say what the reason was but I know regular coffee doesn't do it to me. I really like fresh ground coffee with 1tbs of cinnamon added in while it brews. I'll check out that link later today and see about trying a GF flavored coffee to test out on my stomach.

SpatzModeratorI just called coffeeAM and while they didn't know for sure, the guess was that the flavored coffee isn't safe for individuals with celiac. The guess was that it probably contains gluten in the flavoring. And if they are guessing? Then its probably time to cross coffeeAM off the list no matter how much I enjoy their coffee. Green mountain has a pretty tasty looking flavor, however its ground and I don't do too well with pre-ground coffees. We'll see. 🙂 I'm still going to polish off my Maple Bacon coffee because that stuff is very very good.

Scope75GuestFrom what I've read about flavorings is most are from a gluten containing source unless it says its not.

Scope75GuestRead the link real quick and I can say that kcup flavored coffee didn't effect me at all like the whole bean flavored coffee I bought and brewed.
