Gl;itch.eMemberBut glitch how can ON be better if it is a lower price product, when I say cost price I mean how much our store pays for it from Optimum. Both "claim" to be hydrolyzed proteins but Optimums manufacture cost price is 15 dollars less than the iso 100 cost price but optimum's mark up is far higher to make it seem like a better product. I dont think how well the product mixes is directly related to the level of hydrolyzation. Different sweeteners as well as amino acid levels and other ingredients will effect this greatly.
Yeah I dont know why your cost price is cheaper. It might be more of a distribution thing on their end. Where are they coming from? Also ON is a bigger company. Volume cuts costs. Maybe they have a higher retail simply "because they can" thats usually the way. I mean Coke sells for more down here than Pepsi but you can bet Cokes costs are lower on account of the larger percentage of the market place they have. Theyd save heaps on distribution. Also there is a percieved value to higher cost goods regardless of the actual cost of production or actual quality of them. My view on these products is based on my experience with various Whey Hydrolysates. Ive tried Biotest's orignal Surge product which was Whey Hydrolysate and Dextrose. Dymatizes ISO 100 and ON Hydrowhey. Hydrowhey is upto the same level of hydrolysis as Biotests Surge IMO. Dymatize mixes more milky and I dont believe this could be a result of any sweeteners or other additives. You can also tell the difference via "mouth feel" ISO 100 is definately thicker and Hydrowhey is lighter. Id buy Casein Hydrolysates (pepto-pro) if I had an affordable and tasty way of getting my hands on them. Id much rather a gatorade type fruit flavoured mix intraworkout than a milkshake type one youd get with whey.

MikehrMemberHmm I see what your saying about cost and distribution. JUst the numbers scare me, what they sell it to us and tell us to sell at retail is insane. Agree to disagree 🙂 Ill always be an optimum hater 🙂 and yeah I gotta get me some pepto pro on my next True Nutrition order.

Go HeavyParticipantSo with PWO is it the the general consensus that for post workout, hydrolysates are significantly better than isolates? Has anyone switched and seen a significant difference like a starting creatine for the first time difference or has it been relatively minor? Isolate and leucine should be enough to spike insulin or would the hydrolysates be much more beneficial? I know they're recommended but I've made progress as is with iso sensation 93 (it's the best isolate for the money I can find @ $65 for 5lbs and that's including shipping.) but I'm wondering if I missed out on some opportunities for growth/muscle maintenance by not using something faster digesting. I know it's dynamatize but it's along the same thread as the thread.

It wont make a huge deal man, honestly if money is tight its better spent on food. its one of those things where hydrosylates are "optimal" but not necessary. Isolate will spike insulin just fine PWO
