Justin GuimondParticipantHow would you do it?Explain your reasoning, if you care to!

David M PopeParticipantAs in for performance in a competition or just for fun? Competition? No idea. I'm guessing personal preference would take over. Fun? However the heck you want to. You're having fun for goodness sake! Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Richard SchmittModeratorI'd eat like normal. Not fully understanding your question, as it seems to either a) be an excuse to eat what ever and b) not enjoy just snowboarding.

Justin GuimondParticipantWell, seems to me it's like a giant HIIT session, like 6 hours long. I snowboard hard…Been trying to keep carbs out until post, but was just dogged on recovery last week... maybe some carbs or leucine or hydrolysates through the day might help?

Justin GuimondParticipantBTW, Tex, what do you mean by “normal?” hahHa

Justin GuimondParticipantInchXInch, for fun, but hard day… again, I try to do like HIIT style. Super hard for 1-3 mins, then rest (chairlift or pause) for 1-8 min avg.

SpatzModeratorWe're also going snowboarding next weekend and I've thought about the meal plans. We'll probably do small backloads every evening (3days) in the form of going out and eating dinner without worrying about carbs though keeping it high fat low carb during the day. Take some jerky and other low carb snacks in the cooler. Start the morning off right with some extra strength BP coffee and hit it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Low Carb, I don't see a reason to eat carbs here.

GnomerParticipanti have done full days of snowboarding in the past.. and honestly if you aren't great at it you will be falling every couple of seconds and it gets extremely exhausting and is a hell of a workout.. i'd eat carbs/protein before and after personally..

SpatzModeratorI'm pretty decent at snowboarding with my heavy Longboarding background, and I agree that it's a pretty great workout. I feel as though I could do it ULC pretty easily, but a few carbs afterwards is going to taste well-earned. 🙂Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Brandon D ChristParticipantUnless you are doing some really intense skiing, I don't see how you need carbs. Meaning if you are just doing the typical recreational skiing, just stay low carb.

Justin GuimondParticipantLast time, went high fat and moderate protein with leucine/hydrolysates after… felt good, recovered decent, though the reco ery was a by more laggy than with carbs.
