tylerhamKeymasterI don't intend to use both at the same time.Looking at the recent post on nicotine gum, I'm wondering if anyone knows the difference and advantages/disadvantages between nicotine and ephedrine for fat loss?If nicotine is better, but if I wanted to follow the recommended approach for CBL and only use it on training days, would it be a good time to use ephedrine on the non-training days?Again, unless someone finds info that using both together is safe, I won't be using both at the same time.

ForXParticipantI use both at the same time with caffeine thrown in for good measure. Still wake up everyday. Enough proof it's safe for me.

Dear God your poor adrenals.I would say nicotine is better because it can stimulate mTOR so you could push you fasts longer if you wanted to.

Richard SchmittModerator^^^No kidding!!My question would be why add more to each other? Why not use one or the other? Or not at all? You'll probably increase some pretty bad effects by using both.

thestiffmeisterParticipantI like nicotine for the physiological benefits, because it helps you focus and because it's legal in Japan. Ephedrine is like cocaine, allows me to lift more but beats me up over time and turns me into a rage monster. Sure there are some physiological benefits if you are dieting like a retard, but for the most part it only allowed me to go into the gym wild-eyed and foaming at the mouth, hitting PRs on very little sleep (probably partly caused by ephedrine) and poor nutrition. Also, illegal in Japan and kills my sex drive. Both? I like where this is going. For the record, after my last stint with eca, nicotine and any nootropic I could get my hands on, I decided to quit everything cold turkey and just collapsed in the shower one morning 😛 Be careful with that shit, you could get away with it for a short time, but in my case it quickly became my life support to the point I got cold symptoms if I stopped pumping myself full of stims.

It's a slippery slope isn't it? I was using modafinil along with everything else but quit. Withdrawal from Stims is terrible. I wish I could get back to the days where coffee alone did the trick. Truth is I prefer to go through life wide awake and jittery. I hear meth is a hell of a drug

You've got that right. Do you have ADD? I know I do, diagnosed at an early age. Experts said I would never make it through school without ritalin. Well they can get fucked, I made a mockery out of basically every school task I applied myself to and went through University without opening a book and partying pretty much every other day. Thing is, if I don't like doing something (studying, work, DL PR), I must crank myself up with either the desire to prove a point or just a shit ton of stimulants, so that's how I stay functional. Apparently many people with ADD also are adrenaline junkies, hence the stims. Gives you such a rush, such a feeling of control, I don't see why I'd quit ever. I have scaled back though, to keep things working, but when I look at people who shy away from baby doses of caffeine, it makes me laugh. Who is always sick, miserable and unproductive whenever the slightest thing derails their sleep/lifestyle? People who don't take stims. Here's a fact, I have not been sick in over three years, not even a cold. Adrenal fatigue is just the latest trendy disease people blame for their laziness, their bad programming or their inability to eat/sleep properly because of lifestyle choices.Apparently they found that cavemen were pretty much abusing ephedrine which makes sense I guess. They had to get pumped to slay the terrifying beasts that made up their diet 😛

tylerhamGuestSo does anyone have any info for what cases ephedrine is better versus when nicotine is better? For example, nicotine stimulates mTOR while aspirin in an ECA stack activates AMPK ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3399766/ ).I'll come back from my position of not using both at the same time, and I'm sure there were lots of smokers using ECA stacks (who also woke up every morning) but I wasn't able to find anything comparing the two or showing an extra advantage of using both at the same time.

ChuckMemberHonestly, the ECA stack worked very well, I actually had a lot of benefits to it. I did have some side-effects I would of rather done without. But I would suggest trying one at a time, then after you try both decide which cycle worked better. I am actually thinking about starting the nicotine gum this week. I will tell you though on the ECA stack I was hitting some impressive PR’s.

Brandon D ChristParticipantI think nicotine is more effective for fat loss, but for a kick ass workout I would go with ephedrine.Â

FairyGuestI would skip the aspirin

Why not throw in some Synephrine for good measure. LOL. Seriously, don't.I am curious the long-term effects of you taking all of those at once. 😮Cory

Same. I have ADHD, Ritalin fucked me up (gave me tics), had to get off at an early age. Was on other meds, though... all made me feel like shit. I had record detentions in middle school (I even got detention in elementary... WTF), was always disruptive (even when I was trying to be productive), but yet, I still excelled in academics, my IQ is ridiculous, and my talents varied and intense. All things commonly noted in people with ADD, ADHD, personality disorders, emotional disorders, etc.Seems like a good trade off to me.Cory

thestiffmeisterParticipantI like to think we have superpowers, but they indeed come with a price. The other day I read a super interesting article about how people like us fit the hunter pattern, while “normal” people are more adapted for the gatherer lifestyle. They can handle everyday boring tasks pretty well, we can't, we have to seek extreme sensations because our mind is threatening to fuck off at any moment when we are not stimulated. I guess that's why people with ADD or ADHD tend to become awesome or terrible human beings, rarely anything in-between. Meh, I don't care if people point at me like I'm some kind of monster, at least I'm entertaining.

I couldn't agree more with the "hunter" pattern, as I see that in myself.LOL @ entertaining... I've been told I have a strong personality, that people notice is missing when I am not there.Cory
