Jeffrey HansenParticipantCaffeine is cheap, then you can add hydrolyzed whey to the pwo shake

KenSanderParticipantI like taking fish oil. Carlson's is very high concentrate and if you shop around you can get the big bottle for $30. Depending on how much you take, can last about a month.

Brandon D ChristParticipantThe essential supplements are whey protein (concentrate is fine if you can tolerate it), leucine, creatine mono (it's actually the only form they have proven works), and caffeine. These are all good for post-workout. Coffee is highly reccomended for the morning though. Some form of pre-workout caffeine would be good too.As for fish oil, I reccomend NOW Ultra Omega 3. It's a lot cheaper than Carlson's and it is even more concentrated.

RazamatazGuestI can see why products like creatine and luciene would be useful, but I'm failing to see why they're essential?

They aren't essential. Actually neither is the whey protein. They are just highly reccomended because they have a very low cost/benefit. They are cheap, but at the same time very beneficial.

That's what I thought, but I just wanted to make sure because I don't want to have to wait for them to arrive before I start the diet.

I was wrong, it wasn't BPA, but PCBs (damn acronyms confuse me). I can't find the chart that showed the actual levels, but here's a brief article by consumer reports that explains a little:http://news.consumerreports.org/health/2010/03/news-on-fish-oil-pills-do-fishoil-supplements-need-warning-labels-supplement-safety.html
