oshareKeymasterHey Guys! Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Stefan Edwards, I'm 26 years old and from Toronto, Canada. To make a long story short: Grew up a fat kid and then got into long distance running in college and lost a ton of weight. Was typical skinny fat for a while but would lean out every summer while doing heavy construction work and not having enough time/energy to do endurance work. Ditched the endurance work in 4th year University and started drinking the crossfit/metcon koolaid. Maintained sub 10% bodyfat with ease but was weak as shit and got sick all the time. Moved to Japan for 3 years after school and continued the metcon and HIIT path. Luckily stumbled upon Mark's Daily Apple one day and started researching about low-carb, IF etc., which eventually led me to Leangains. Moved back to Canada and started following Martin's guidelines and have consistently held 7-8% bodyfat for the last 2 years while adding weight to to all my lifts doing super low-volume reverse pyramid training (6'2" at 175 I was deadlifting 445x3, squatting 275x3, and benching 225x5). Eventually started to burn out and just didn't feel good, so decided to keep researching for something more optimal. I also started rock climbing and some gymnastics work and wanted a program that could support a higher volume of training, without making me fat or sacrificing raw strength. This led me to dangerouslyhardcore.com a few months ago. I picked up Carb Backloading, read every article Keifer has written and jumped in head first. Did the ten day prep-phase with ease and have been running a hybrid CBL/CNS protocol since. Some lift days I stay ULC, others I back-load - all depends on my sleep and stress levels, which are a pretty reliable indicator to how well I will handle a big whack of carbs. Thanks to tinkering with IF for the last few years, I've become very in-tune with my body and its response to carbs so setting up a hybrid program for myself has been very easy and the results have been phenomenal. I'm not interested in putting on a ton of muscle, but rather, simply increasing my strength to body-weight ratio and staying as lean as possible. I'm getting Movnat certified in August (I'll be one of the first trainers in Canada), and will continue using CBL/CNS, along with intelligent and proven programming, to keep myself and my clients, lean, vibrant, healthy and strong. Looking forward to participating in the forums and learning as much as I can! Cheers. 🙂

thestiffmeisterParticipantWelcome buddy, I'm from Quebec and an ex LGer myself!I credit Martin for a lot of my progress during the past two years, but like you I have definitely outgrown LG as far as training volume, and I've since stopped caring about maintaining ridiculously low body-fat at the expense of much slower muscle growth. Reading Kiefer's work has definitely taken my understanding of training and nutrition to the next level and the community here is awesome compared to many others. I used to avoid training and nutrition forums, but this place is great, full of good people and good information. Plus Kiefer is a lot less irate than MB 😛You'll fit right in.
