I am currently doing the ice cream 5×5 routine, but my gym doesn't have a barbell. I only have a smith Machine, a crossover machine and dumbbells that go to 50lbs… Is it ok that I am doing my bench presses and my squats on the smith machine? Thanks!
I would agree with the plan for finding a new gym. For a while I was only using a smith machine because it was all my gym had. I didn't get nearly as effective results as I do while squatting with a barbell, and it severely restricts range of motion, so I having some lower back/knee issues with it + Shoulder pain when using it to bench
yes you are right, I did notice the shoulder discomfort with benching… I will have to find a proper gym, the LA Fitness around here is usually packed.Thanks all for the recommendation.
