Hey,I just started backloading again, feels great. But I'm having some issues, one being I'm feeling sick after having my morning shake ( 200ml 17% coconut milk, 200 no coffee and a scoop of protein ), and I also have a handful of nuts. But I just feel really sick after that, for about half an hour.. like nauseous, feeling like I'm gonna throw up.. any ideas why? Just my body transitioning to backloading again? I did backload a year ago and felt nothing of this. Also, I'm feeling really hungry, and I'm at over 4500 calories per day. I'm having eggs and sausage for first meal, ground beef, bacon and vegetables for second... After these I still feel so hungry I don't feel like lifting.. I've a long day, waking up at 0630, lifting at 1400 or 1600..Any suggestions? I really want to get back into backloading again.Thanks.

Hypoglycemic from what it sounds, maybe the fat content did not match the protein amount first thing in the morning? You're following the AM Shake correct? Also sounds like Ghrelin, I get that way a lot after backloading the night prior or even ULC days. That is honestly normal, a lot of athletes tend to eat copious amounts of food because the way we utilize it in the form of our training and daily activities. What are your macros compared to the 4500 calories and body stats?

I'm getting 34 grams of fat, and around 28-30 grams of protein from the shake. It also happens when eating my sausage and eggs, but I feel nothing when eating lunch, which isnt rich in fat.I'm 193 cm tall, weighing 80 kilos.. lifting 6 times a week, very high intensity, and martial arts once a week.Protein bout 275, carbs 420, fat 175. Should I cut down on the fat? Seems to trigger it..?

I tried halving the amount of coconut milk, and the result was no bloating / nausea.. I've tried switching the eggs and sausage out with just meat and vegetables, and the result is the same, no bloating or nausea. So I'm guessing that too much fat triggers nausea for me, I've also had that happen when visiting macdonalds etc.Anything I can do about this?

You pretty much figured it out with the fat amount, try it in smaller doses and work back up.

Could be related to digestive enzymes if you haven't used high fat diets before. A digestive enzyme supplement designed for fats might help. Otherwise do what Tex and you have already worked out and just ramp up the dose over time if necessary. This will at least give your body a chance to catch up and produce the enzymes it requires.

I think Gl;itch.e is right.  I had the same problem when I transitioned into my first high fat diet.  Tried to do the bulletproof coffee (coffee+butter) and felt like hell for the next couple of hours.  Eventually I just left it alone and have slowly been increasing fat intake, which has helped.  Still cant do over 40g of fat at once, unless it's with a good amount of protein Anything I can do about this?Could be related to digestive enzymes if you haven't used high fat diets before.
