PhattyMemberI've done some searching through the forum and I've read mixed opinions on fibre. In the book, it says it's rather important to get enough fibre so I got a fibre supplement (benefiber) but I've noticed it doesn't really doing anything for me. I take 10g (8.5g of fibre) of it in the morning with water, after training and after my PWO shake. Then wash it down with even more water. I also eat around 400g of veg a day (broccoli or sprouts), sometimes more. Even with all that, I only manage to pass a poop every 3-4 days. Usually halfway through my carb nite, or the day after and then 3-4 days later. Should I eat more fibre? Less? I get roughly 18-25g a day through food and supplements.Should i ditch the fibre for magnesium citrate?

FairyGuestYes, ditch the fiber supplements for the magnesium supp. You can still keep having veggies, since they are good for you 🙂It might take some time for your body to adapt, but it will. Other than that, you might want to add potassium bicarbonate and zinc, since these minerals help the magnesium absorption. Drink lots of water/green tea/black coffee every morning and make sure your foods come from high quality sources.

Thanks. I do take a multivit/mineral with some zinc and magnesium in it already but it lacks potassium and there's not much magnesium in it either. Any ideas of a place to order magnesium citrate from? I've had a look on amazon.co.uk and it seems a bit expensive. Myprotein.co.uk are out of stock of the 500g bags of it at the moment too.

FairyGuestMmmm. Holland and Barrett should suffice for these ones. Just never buy fish oil from them.

Can't imagine that smelling very nice. Cod liver oil stinks at the best of times.

Had to look that up then. Higher concentrations of EHA/DHA in the fish oil.Is there any other differences?
