Hi all,First day on CN.  Did some research and read the book - it all seemed so easy until I started reading this forum!  I'll try not to over think it...I'm female, have a desk job and can only workout in the morning (which I'm not currently doing - will get back into it once I'm comfortable with CNS). Just looking to drop some sitting-all-day weight. I've taken this Greens+ Whole Body for about a year and I really like it but it has about 7.5 grams of carbs in a scoop.  http://www.genuinehealth.com/store/greens-whole-body-nutritionDoes anyone know of a good greens powder or something similar that is low carb?  I like it in the morning, it's a good energy booster.

Welcome! I'll take a stab at answering you question regarding the greens. But before that I'll have to say I'm a CBL guy, still relatively new at that, and not 100% familiar with CN.I would say that the greens look fine. Keep in mind they do have protein in them as well but at 10 to 12 grams you should be OK as long as you don't add any more in with the shake. My suggestion would be if you find the fat loss is not what you'd hoped for, cut the dose of greens in half by taking one scoop instead of two.

Welcome…and I'll disagree with Rob.  You don't want to do any shake esp one with carbs in the morning. It will create an insulin spike and stop fat burning for the day.

Doesn't look like a protein shake, just looks like a nasty super food shake to me. I'd only take 1 scoop because of the carbs, and I'd move it to lunch or later if that's possible.Welcome to the forum!! Are you thinking about take the nasty green stuff before or after your workout? If you take it after, that should be fine with your PWO shake in the morning.

I agree....but it is liquid food...which still raises blood sugar because of not needing to be digested like food.

Wow, thanks everyone!  I went without it today and feel ok.  I like the idea of moving it to the afternoon, will try that, thanks.  The amount of carbs I listed is actually in 1 scoop, as that's all I would normally have.  I drink tea instead of coffee.  I've been adding coconut oil and it's good.  Have to say I'm glad day 1 is over - I felt very tired yesterday and had a headache.  It's harder than I thought it would be already!  But, today I made almond flour pancakes and had energy afterwards, and still do. The thing I'm finding most difficult is figuring out amounts of fat and protein to eat, as I've found is a common cause of confusion from reading threads on here.  I'll keep reading and figure it out.  I bought the Transforming Recipes book and there are some good looking recipes in there.  Thanks again, nice to know there's somewhere to go with questions!  In my reading here, I've realized that the info in CNS is dated.  So, does anyone take Benefibre or another supplement of that type?  I thought I'd wait and see if I have any issues and, well, today wasn't normal.  Maybe the lack of Greens+ 🙂

Love it when a plan comes together. Got tired hearing crickets and figured Penny would come to the rescue again if I gave bad advice. LOL.Regarding lethargy, yeah that's going to take some getting used to but once you do switch over to getting use to morning fat mobilizing, fasting is easier as time goes by making holding for food later in the day possible.BTW there are greens out there with no carbs & no protein. I use Amazing Grass Green SuperFood Original. Taste like crap but in coconut milk later in the day is not so bad. yes on the fiber. Kiefer recommends a triple fiber blend which is what I use.

I caved. Had some biscotti tonight. Do I need to start over?  I'm on day 6. Can I just do a workout in the morning?

You had four days left? Did you not eat enough to feel satisfied? Just go ulcer for a Week, and have a CN the following 7th Day.
