EMS218KeymasterHey Everyone!I know most people aren't calculating macros or counting carbs on their CN but I was curious what everyone eats for their first meal and not only that-but how much?I am eating gluten free on my CN and usually start with cereal. I am keeping my carb intake lower for my CN because I am prepping for a bikini comp, but I was curious if I have missed anywhere where Kiefer has described how many carbs you need to get an adequate insulin spike? I've been eating 2 servings of cereal which is actually pretty high for not much volume (around 50carbs) which I would think is sufficient, but was just curious as to what others were doing. What are your favorite clean (gluten free) eats on CN?I tried something new this time and made my own rice flour sugar cookies and made icing with grass fed butter. My dinner will be a burger (no bun) with bacon and sweet potatoes with bacon, coconut oil and maple syrup (Alex recommended)-I'm pretty excited!! Curious to see if this cleaner/more controlled carb nite yields good results. 🙂Thanks!

FairyGuestLet us know how it goes!I think a great way to start is with an isolate shake with dextrose and leucine.

EMS218GuestI haven't read up on the leucine on CN. I take 5g PWO (which is in the AM). I know some people supplement on CN with it too-how much do you take, and is it always with your first meal? What is the reasoing? I could take it later if the timing isn't as important, but I haven't done my research on that yet.

MikehrMemberHey!A lot of people on here like doing 5g leucine and with 10g WPI, for two reasons leucine spikes insulin to help put the carbs in the muscle and the small bit of protein helps with your daily intake and leaves room for lots of carbs. My personal favorite for a first meal is about 60-70g of carbs from either white rice or white instant potatoes with chicken breast.

Alan TorellMemberI have been starting with Kiefer's post-WO shake from CBL without added carbs (haven't tried the added glucose/dextrose/brewer's corn sugar yet), but with a side of carbs (had been Xmas treats around the holidays). Sushi has become my favorite chaser after the shake.
