http://www.unuftp.is/static/fellows/document/pak05prf.pdfBeen reading this article, about the fish oil used in bottles, and even in that case the rancicity inst immediate,If the capsule fish oil is well treated and encapsulated without oxidation, the health issues are less that those who are rancid and masked of it,The fish oil i take is this one : http://www.bulkpowders.co.uk/assets/coa/SSFishOil.pdfby the data they put there, if true, wich is likely, the oxidation process was controlled,Again, i wont drop my DHA and EPA supp without hard proven evidence that all the beneficts it brings are untrue and that they harm me more than help me,If this was such a big issue, i wonder why Kiefer hasnt pronounced about that when  he commented about the issue of prostate cancer with fish-oil.

I agree.  I think Gl;tche has good reasons to be against fish oil, but I am personally not buying it.  Until I see more evidence, I do not believe eating fish or taking fish oil is harmful.  I am not being ignorant (I once thought gluten intolerance was in people's heads, but I believe differently now), but I need to see empirical results or some sort of personal observations.

I did a huge reply to this post and it didnt go through!!! Goddamnit!Suffice to say Im against all forms of polyunsaturated fats because its a plant fat. Plants produce it in response to cold climates as a protetive mechanism. In cold water fish the accumulation of PUFAs allows them to survive the cold. We run at higher temperatures where PUFAs become a detriment. Warm blooded Animals (Mammals essentially) store it in their tissues more so than burning it and when it is burned it slows the metabolic rate and can cause issues with the thyroid. I dont expect anyone to go changing anything based on what I might say. But I am happy to present alternate views to mainstream ideas. The rest is up to your own critical thinking and research/experience. Ive done fish oil to death and got nothing from it. 6+ years of constant supplementation, often mega dosing for long periods of time, and seen absolutely nothing from it. Certainly no anabolic boost or remarkable change in cognition, health or body comp. In fact Ive been so much better in many different areas since abandoning all PUFAs entirely. Eczema that I used to get on my calfs that would drive me insane every winter is improved at least 80%. Blocked noses and allergies and virtually non-existant. I have no joint problems and inflammation seems to have gone down markedly all round. When I first ditched the Polys I was in the middle of bulking. Initally I lost fat until the gaining caught back up LOL. I am totally sold on the uselessness of fish oil and polyunsaturated fats.

The thing is that in most cases, the intake of proper fish-oil has improved the health of the ones who take it, specially in the fields of inflamation and joint pain, that removing it entirely is a big leap of faith, and this time with all research pointing the opossite way!I would love to ditch my fish-oil supp since is a little expensive but doing it i might as well have some of the problems i had since i have some problems with my hernia and joint pain,They have been all gone since i started CBL but even before it i started taking fish oil and it was healping,The biggest improvement is the fact my diet changed from crap fat to good fat with carb-backloading, BUT i cant deny the fact that my body responds well to fish oilI would love to Kiefer to read this thread and to be involved in this too, since i search and search and see no evidence that fish oil poly fat are making more harm to most of us than good :/

flawed studies. Extreme example:If you did a study and gave the "control group" a daily dose of a severe beating with sledgehammers, and the "experimental group" a daily dose of a punch to the face, its quite easy to show that the experimental groups protocol was the "healthier" of the two. But is this still optimal or healthy? What other bad thing is being displaced when they use the fish oil? Most likely another form of polyunsaturated fat. The oxidation of Fish Oil is one way it achieves its "health effects" by its Immunosuppressive actions. And when looked at against another form of PUFA may appear to be "healthy"

So in your case, and if you have health problems regarding joint pain and any kind of hernias that get really upset when they are inflamated, and remove any direct poly fat of your diet, would you have a health improvement? Its this that im worrying about since i have some problems with knee pain and my hernia seems to be kept in check due to my diet,That and of course the supposed effects on balancing the effects of sat fats on cell membrane

If nothing else, i just dont get sick since taking high doses of fish oil. I cant testify to its benefits in any other areas, or more specifically if it improves the results of CBL.. I guess i just blindly hope its worth the money

Well i take the 5g and i get sick as without it lol, I take it mainly for the t-glut translocation into cells and because of its supposed anti-inflamatory protprieties that now i see that are more like aspirin and Brufen than from a nutritional value at all!

Personally I don't take fish oil supps, I have sardines though most days and that's out of a can so possible BPA worries there, also sometimes the quality isn't the best? The thing is where do you draw the line? Grass fed beef is high in omega 3 which is a PUFA as well..

Yeah I'm not totally sure about that fact. I think more than anything it has a "better" ratio since grass fed beef tends to have less omega 6s as well as less total fat, Cows tend to ferment their diet in their rumens and actually "filter" out most of the bad fats in their diet and make more saturated fats out of it. This study seems to suggest that the amount in grassfed beef is still very low

Only grass-fed beef reached the target of more than 30mg of long chain n-3 FA/100 g muscle as recommended by Food Standard Australia and New Zealand for a food to be considered a source of omega-3 fatty acids.

Gliche, what is your oppinion regarding how do we get the n-3 fatty acids if our body doesnt produce them?Or are you of the opinion that the fact that our body inst able to make it efficiently, doesnt mean that our body really needs these kind of FA?I say it because of a post of Jonh Meadows regarding the different paths that n-3 DHA-EPA fatty acids take on our body for healing processes and other ones,

Omega 3 fatty acids are not essential. The body simply does not need them. The idea of a "deficiency" of Omega 3 fatty acids is based on one old and badly done study. The "deficiency" of Omega 3s at the time of the study has been since shown to be corrected by vitamin b6 which was discovered afterwards.

Thinking about it, makes all the sense, but i wonder why Kiefer recommends it for CBL,Is he plain wrong?I will try a month without fish oil and since i dont consume any type of fat besides grass-fed butter, cheese and meats, my ratios will be in check,Will try it in the 2nd month of my current workout protocol so i can eliminate the variable of a new protocol being the possible culprit of any change,Im still sceptical of it naturally, since there anre any studies that can really say that fish oil inst needed (may be because it generates too much money atm?)

Even if you just look at it financially I think its worth the experiment, let alone the possible health outcomes. I think you'll do well if you are eating those fat sources.

May be it'not a deficiency in O3 but a ratio, and if we decrease O6-9 in alimentation and eat some fatty fish, i think pur ratio is better so complementation may not be important. I note, for myself, that if i take too much O3 in a week, i have inflammatory response and fat lose stall. If i don't eat fish, 5-10g every 2-3 days are enough. So i do by feeling, but not 15g every day.

The benefit of increasing the 3:6 ratio is in simply reducing total PUFA intake. If you do away with them both youd be better off.
