Kiefer has said a few times not all omega 3 supplements are created equal but hasn't recommended a brand or EPA to DHA ratio buy. Anyone know what would be the safest?

He reccomended Carlson's finest liquid fish oil.Kiefer also made a facebook comment on this study last night.  He actually said it was a good study, but he had the same concerns we all had about the participants diets.

Do you think are even needed if you are eating Omega 3 eggs and Grass fed beef? What about the NOW foods brand? I am currently taking Champion Nutrition brand. I don't like the fact the Carlson brand are all flavored.

You have to remember Kiefer recommends fish oil for performance purposes, not health.  If you read chapter 22 in CBL, Kiefer is actually rather skeptical about the health benefits of omega-3.  He recommends them to decrease the viscosity of the membranes of cells to allow for tGLUT to be translocated more efficiently, thus making them more anabolic.  I don't know much about omega-3 reccomendations for health, but I think grassfed beef plus fatty fish once or twice a week would be fine for health purposes.I personally use NOW fish oil and I like it, so I would recommend it.

Thats my stance on grass fed meat.. Idealy I would eat it every day if I could afford it, but since I cant, I try to at least have it a couple times a week

No, I meant if you are eating grass fed meat all the time instead of grain fed meat.  I meant having fish a couple times a day.If you can't afford grass fed meat, I would get the leanest grain fed meat possible and get fats from grass fed butter or coconut oil.

Ohhh, I misinterpreted.. I do get very little fat from grain fed meats unless Im having a steak or something, as I always add in some grassfed butter which is more in my budget thankfully

Unless you are on the Detox diet you don't need to supplement with them as much I assume then?

I would follow the 5 g of (EPA+DHA) in the book, which should end up being about 6.5-8 g of fish oil total, depending upon the concentration of the brand you're using.

I take Simply Right triple strength, to hit my 5 grams I take 8.4 grams of fish oil which actually gets me 5.4 grams epa dha. If i were to decrease that by 1 cap Id be at 7 grams f.oil and 4.5 grams epa/dha.. Better to decrease or keep as is?

I don't think it matters either way.
